I went upstairs to brush my teeth and get dressed for class today. I brushed my teeth, staring at myself in the mirror. My eyes were drooping, dark and sad. I sighed as I spit into the sink. I entered my room and got dressed. I grabbed my car keys and books and walked out the door. I heard my mother's pitter patter of feet coming to the door.
"Bye Deacon!"
"Bye, Mom!"
I started the car and drove off. My goodness, I can't get her off of me unless I leave somewhere she can't be. What's she gonna do? Pick me up for a doctor's appointment? I can drive everywhere by myself. I hate it when she follows me around like a lost puppy. She could've had more kids! She doesn't have any fertility problems, she could've had more children to follow. Why was it just me?
I parked in the parking lot and ran into the building. I got into class early. There's only really one reason I try to get to class extra early. There's this…girl. She moved here from Missouri just for college. She said if she doesn't find someone that she could live with, that she'll just go back to Missouri. And, I really do like her. She flirts with me sometimes, a girl has never given me the light of day before! And she's just perfect. She's studying to be a psychologist, and we both have this class together since both psychologists and doctors need to be able to read people.
She also said that if I get here before her ten times in a row, then she'll let me take her on a date! I haven't told my mom or my cousin about this because I don't want to ruin my chances with her. I really want to love her, right now we're just talking, but sometimes I walk her to her next class. I just really want her. No words in any language could express my love for her. Everytime I'm around her, my heart just flutters. Luckily, this would be the tenth time I got here before her!
I watched her enter the room and walk up to me, sitting down where she always does, which is next to me. I smiled at her, and she smiled back. She leaned toward me, her hands on her chin, looking at me with interest.
"So, my little star, when is this date that you worked so hard for?" She teased.
"C-can I pick you up at eight tonight?" I ask, stumbling over my words.
"You got it, pretty boy. I'll be ready at eight." She chuckled.
I smiled nervously at her. I plan on taking her to a field far away to look at stars. She always told me how she loved to see the stars but she never had the time to do so. I just want her to like me.
I grinned at her softly, she looked at me and tapped her cheek. I think she wanted a kiss. My heart started to beat again, faster and faster. I looked around and pulled my chair closer to her. I looked around again and then pulled her chair closer to me. She smiled at me. I pulled her face closer to mine, and brought my lips to her face. I kissed her cheek softly, she giggled happily. Man, I want her.
"Where are you taking me, Deacon?" She asked.
"That's a surprise." I told her.
"Well, is it a dress type of date or do I need to wear something different?" She smirked.
"Mmm, bring something comfortable like pajamas and a swimsuit, and something casual, like what you are wearing now." I faltered.
"Ooh, ok. I can't wait to find out what it is." She gushed.
"Also, are you doing anything tomorrow?" I asked.
"No, is tomorrow a part of the date?" She ribbed.
"It is. A-and it's a surprise so don't look into it. I-I want to make sure you have a good time." I stammered.
"Aww, I'm sure that I'll have the best time ever." She coaxed. "As long as you'll be there and I know you will. I love being with you."
I chuckled nervously. I remember the first time we interacted she called me "pretty boy" to get my attention. I was shocked but I went with it because she gave me attention.
After class, I went home. I don't even know what I would wear to this. The fun part about this, is that she always told me about her Papa's creek that she loved to play in when she was a kid but had to stop because snakes moved in due to the rising climate. So, the field I'm taking her to has a creek. And we're going to stay the night in a rental camper I got for her since she grew up glamping. I already bought stuff for s'mores with hot cocoa and I'm gonna get her take out, then in the morning I'm gonna take her out for breakfast.
I put on a t-shirt and some khaki pants. I had a bag packed for some of the stuff I would do with her. I wanted this to be the best date she could ever get. I just really want her to like me. And she seems so sweet. She's just so smart, flirty, pretty, and so much more.
I put on my shoes and walked out the door. I got in my car and started it. I drove out of the driveway and headed for the apartments near the college. I stopped at the sidewalk and watched for her to come out. I saw her. She ran toward my car and opened the door to the passenger seat.
"Hi pretty boy." She smiled.
"H-hi, Sayge. You look b-beautiful, did you straighten your hair? I-it looks amazing." I stuttered.
"Aww, thank you Deacon. You're so sweet. I can't wait to see what you've prepared for me. I bet it's amazing." Sayge coquetted.
"Yeah, I think you're gonna love this. I mean, I-I really love you, so I made sure to make it special, you're really special to me." I implied, reaching for her hand.
"Oh, Deacon. I love you too." Sayge blushed and kissed my cheek. "Now, how about you take me out so that it'll distract me from going crazy on your lips."
"O-okay." I chuckled.
I drove off, getting onto the highway. The whole time, she stared at me. Whenever I had to let go of her hand to hold the wheel better or just got nervous and sweaty and had to let go for a minute, she would just put her hand on my leg. Sayge just wouldn't let me go. It was amazing, she was all over me. She's just perfect, the lady for me.
I pulled up to the driveway, a dirt one. She always told me how her family was from the country and how she would always take this bumpy dirt road to get to her cousin's house. She tilted her head, waiting to see what I had in store. I smiled, I wanted her to be happy, to be so very happy. And, I want her to love me.
I stopped at the camper and turned off the car. I looked at her to see her smile.
"Deacon, what did you prepare for me?" Sayge gasped.
"Well, I took you to a place far away from any city or town so that you could see the stars, and we can camp, like you did when you were younger and there's a creek below the small bluff. And I brought s'mores for you and in the morning I'm gonna take you to breakfast. So, wanna go put your stuff in the camper so that we can look at the stars?" I smiled at her, waiting for a reaction.
"Oh, Deacon!" Sayge jumped up and hugged me. "Oh, I love you so much!" She kissed my cheek rapidly and many times. "Come on, let's go put our stuff inside!"
She jumped out of the car and grabbed her bag from the back. I smiled and chased after her. I got my bag and jogged to the door of the camper. I brought out my keys and unlocked the door. I opened it and let Sayge run in. I came in behind her.
"Aw, Deacon, this is just so nice. It's better than what I had as a kid! Oh, Deacon, I don't have any words, this is amazing!" Sayge cheered.
"I-I'm happy you like it. And, before we go outside, for dinner I'm gonna buy you some take out because you said that you liked take out and there's a buffet place really close by." I stumbled over my words.
Sayge came up and hugged me tightly. "You're so sweet, I love you." And kissed my neck.
I hugged her back, and gave her a kiss under the ear. She rested her head on my shoulder, cuddling closer.
"Alright, alright Sayge, let me get you some dinner. Come sit on the couch with me so that you can just point to what you want."
"Mm, ok."
After we ordered, she cuddled me on the couch, giving me kisses on the cheek until the food came. Though, this is the first date, I want to kiss her tonight or when I take her back home. I really just wanna kiss her. She's someone I would want to marry one day.
I heard an uber car outside so I got up to get our food. When I got it and watched the car drive out of sight I called Sayge out.
"What's up?" She said, pulling on some sandals.
"I was thinking we should sit out here and eat, while watching the stars. Take out and stars? I can get a blanket for us." I said softly.
"That would be perfect, Deacon!" She chirped. "I'll get the blanket!"
Sayge ran back inside and came out with a blanket.
"Don't worry it's an extra blanket I found in a closet, it's not from the bed." She smirked.
"O-okay, lay it down." I said with an anxious tone.
This date makes me nervous but it's going so well. She really loves the stuff I prepared for her. I really love her.
We ate and watched the stars, multiple different colors in the sky, the beautiful white dots. She ate her food with chopsticks while looking up. I kissed her cheek gently, I wanted to hold her hand again but I was too nervous to.
She finished her food and so we threw our trash away.
"Wanna have s'mores now?" I asked.
"I would love to have some s'mores." Sayge giggled.
"Ok, do you want to do it outside or on the gas stove inside?"
"I would like to do it inside, it's getting colder than I usually like."
"Alright, then. I'll just get the stuff." I replied.
Sayge sat down on the couch while I got the stuff out of the cabinets and fridge. I turned on the stove and grabbed two metal sticks and placed a marshmallow on them.
"Come here, I have the marshmallows on the sticks. And I have another little surprise."
"What! More? You are way better than I thought." Sayge snickered.
"Yeah, remember when you said you liked the cookies 'n cream Hershey's bar things. Well, I bought some to use on the s'mores."
"Deacon, you are awesome. It feels good to know that you actually listen to me talk." Sayge smiled nervously.
"Of course, love. Now, come on, I want you to have a s'more before bed."
She giggled and got up from the couch. I gave her a stick and let her toast her marshmallow. I broke a couple of graham crackers and chocolate pieces and laid them out on the counter for her. I stood close to her, our hips touching. I toasted my marshmallow. She leaned on the counter, turning her marshmallow to get it golden. I watched her smile, she's so pretty. I love her.
Sayge sandwiched her marshmallow onto the graham cracker and chocolate. She took a bite and watched me as I finished my marshmallow. She giggled and looked away, going to sit on the couch.
"You can have the rest of the chocolate, I don't think I'll ever finish it." I smiled at her.
"Really? Of course I'll eat it, I love chocolate." Sayge laughed, taking her last bite. "Now that I'm finished, I'm gonna go put some pajamas on, alright?"
"Of course, love. I'll get some extra blankets from the closet." I said placidly.
She grinned and went into the bathroom. I still have to figure out where I should sleep. I want her to have the bed. It's a nice bed and I'm very conscious on how I sleep. It's not bad, it's just plain, I don't move in my sleep and I lay on my back with my hands on my chest. I don't want her to think I'm boring. Everything about me is pretty boring. I had literally no original idea for a date, I had to think about it for a whole night. I didn't want to go to bed until I found out what I wanted to do with her.
She came out of the bathroom, her face wet, wearing a long t-shirt and some short-shorts. Sayge came up from behind me, holding my waist and laying her head on my back. She yawned softly, nuzzling into my back and gently kissing the nape of my neck.
"Hey, are you tired?" I asked, rubbing her hands delicately.
"Maybe…" Sayge groaned.
"You wanna go to bed? I'll sit with you until you fall asleep." I whispered.
"Mmm, okay." She chuckled coyly.
I walked with her to the bed and laid her down. I covered her with a blanket while she wiggled around, trying to get comfortable. I rubbed her head and sat beside the bed. She smiled gently and held tight onto my shirt.
"Goodnight Sayge." I whispered.
"Goodnight…mmmm, Deacon." She groaned.
I leaned down and kissed her forehead. She smiled and then grabbed the back of my head, running her fingers through my hair.
"Could you just stay right here for a little while, even if I fall asleep? Pretty please?" Sayge whispered drowsily.
"If you want me to. I'll stay." I whispered back.
"Thank you." She mumbled slowly.
"It's my pleasure, love." I patted her head.
Sayge closed her eyes and planted her face in the pillow. I rubbed her head, brushing her soft hair with my fingers. I laid down next to her, cuddling close to make sure that she was warm.
If she really likes this, then I need to find out what I need to do for a second date. I would have to save up a lot this summer. It's a good thing that I get a paid internship and I get paid for doing stuff at home sometimes. That's a lot of money. My parents pay most of my college stuff so I don't have to use some of the money I get and I can use it for dates and save some of it.
It's a time of desperation for me. I just really want her. I want to make her happy. I need to think of what I should do next time. Maybe I could take her to the beach, or I can take her out for dinner.
My phone buzzed. I told my mom that I was at my cousin's house, because my mom is weird and I was worried she was gonna scare my girlfriend away. I opened my phone, and it was Chase. Hopefully he didn't blow my cover.
CH ⭐
Your mom is downstairs, I'm pretty sure grandpa is not on board.
Deacon
What? Stall them until morning, get her to go home.
CH ⭐
When will you even be home? I can't stall your mother forever. Aunt Beth is like a crazy bull on drugs when she doesn't get her way.
Deacon
I'll try and be home at lunch tomorrow. I wanna make this work
CH ⭐
Ok, I'll try. But you owe me.
Deacon
Fine, i'll give you like 10 dollars
I turned off my phone and put it on the nightstand. I laid back down next to Sayge, covering myself with a blanket. I just don't want my mom to find out about Sayge. I feel like she's gonna scare her away and I really want to make this work. And feel that my mom won't like her.
And I guess I just really want the attention I've always wanted.
