Chapter 5 - The ‘Blade of Searing’ part two.

Kaelren was walking with Lucan. This place where his supposed 'boss' was.. it was far away. took quite the walking, considering we've been walking for at least an hour now.

"How far away.. is your 'boss'?" Kaelren asked, starting to get bored of walking.

"Actually.. We're here."

"What? You're joking, right?"

Kaelren stood in front of a pile of rubble, staring for any signs of life. None that he could spot. Lucan walked around to the other side, and stood in front of something.

"Come." Lucan said, standing in front of bunker gates. not too big.

Kaelren walked over as well, unsure whether to enter or not. This looks like one of those super-secret villain lairs you'd see in movies.

Kaelren followed Lucan down a flight of stairs, his curiosity getting to him.

When they got down, Kaelren looked around. The place seemed well-kept.

Lucan led Kaelren further inside the bunker, Kaelren too busy looking around to notice Lucan already talking to a man.

"And who is this, Lucan?" Asked a tall, muscular man. Kaelren's attention snapped back into that direction, looking over the man. He looked like he was in his mid 30's, black hair and.. purple eyes. Kaelren smiled awkwardly.

"Hello, sir… I'm Kaelren." The man looked over Kaelren, raising an eyebrow. But he smiled a little.

"Kaelren? Interesting."

As the man glanced at Lucan, his gaze changed. But he looked back at Kaelren.

"I'm Ethan." The man replied.

He gave Lucan a glance, and he nodded. Lucan turned to Kaelren, gesturing to him to follow Lucan.

Kaelren did as told, following behind Lucan. They reached a room inside the bunker, a pretty big one.

"That was him." Lucan spoke, breaking the silence.

"He… kind of gives me a bad feeling." Kaelren spoke, sitting on the edge of the bed in the room.

"Bad feeling, huh? Don't worry. He's a decent guy." Lucan spoke calmly.

Kaelren sighed but nodded subtly. He fell back onto the bed, closing his eyes for a brief moment.

"Well I'll leave you alone. My room is to your left if you need anything else." Lucan said, walking out, leaving Kaelren alone with his thoughts.

Kaelren's mind wandered. He had technically been forced to adapt to this situation. If he were being honest, he still couldn't properly comprehend this world, this situation. Well.. For him, it's better if he tried making sense of it and moved on for now.

Kaelren then abruptly sat up on the bed. The dream. Kaelren had forgotten about it. It was a weird one. He couldn't remember it fully. Loiren? Kaelren had heard that name many times when he was younger. When he was still being told bed stories.

It was a myth. from what he knew. But if Nekropolis was a real planet and he was on it right now, he didn't see a reason to try to find the Ervyllian's city.

'Weren't Ervyll's were the enemies of the other species?— What was it? Ah— drakophoros, right?'

Kaelren got up, walking around the room, trying to remember more his mother used to tell him.

'Ah! The drakophoros were the heroes, if I remember correctly. They attacked the Ervyll's when the Ervyll's lost their king, Loiren. But… then again, I'm pretty sure Loiren was alive and fought Loki.. The strongest Drakophoros.'

'Loiren was a wielder, the blade of fire— flames, was it?'

Kaelren stopped in his tracks. He took out the fragments that were still in his pocket, playing them out on the bed.

'It was the Blade of Searing!' Kaelren put the pieces together, a satisfied expression on his face. But it was quickly replaced with confusion.

"What the hell?" Kaelren muttered to himself.

'...Is this world giving me remnants of Loirens sword? If so, why?' Kaelren exhaled deeply, now in fact, very puzzled.

'And he had the rarest powers that an Ervyll could get. I only remember the names.. Pink fire, soundwaves, shadow, gravity and the rarest… I don't remember the name.' Kaelren thought, ruffling his own hair in confusion.

He indeed had just slept not even 5 hours ago. But he was starting to get drowsy. Although, it felt more like mental exhaustion to Kaelren.

He just walked back to his bed, falling face flat.

Though, it wasn't long before he could feel his eyelids getting heavier. Loiren? He swore he heard his voice somewhere. Somewhere out of the dream. But it didn't add up. Nothing did.

THUD.

Kaelren's eyes shot open.

'What the hell?'

Kaelren slowly turned onto his back, looking around the room. But the noise came from outside.

He sighed. No one told him that he couldn't go out, even if it felt wrong.

Kaelren got up, walking to the door.

"What the hell?!?!" Ethan yelled at his subordinate, looking down on him.

"Sir— I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to. It was a one time mistake, I—" The woman couldn't finish her sentence.

"Send her to the sacrifice chamber." Ethan replied coldly, talking to his men.

"What?! You can't just do that! Sir! Please! it was only a one time thing!!" She yelled, begging Ethan.

"Send her." Ethan didn't bat one eye at the woman's words, Turning around as if a life wasn't something to care about.

Two of Ethan's men dragged the woman over to a locked door. Ethan turned his back, walking away with one of his men.

There growled a hungry monster. There was a monster there. Behind the door. Ethan's men dragged the woman along, but before they could throw the woman inside, a voice called out.

"Wait! Stop!" Kaelren's voice rang through the hallways.

Kaelren came out from peeking behind the pillars, his hand resting on the grip of his sword.

Kaelren walked towards the room, standing behind the men, staring into the darkness of the room infront of them.

"Where are you taking her?" Kaelren asked, warily.

"Who are you?" Asked one of the men coldly.

"Doesn't matter." Kaelren stepped forward, reaching for the woman. One of the men roughly pushed him away, unsheathing their sword at him.

"Don't interfere, boy." One of the men coldly pointed the blade at Kaelren.

"Are you sacrificing an innocent woman?" Kaelren asked, his eyes betraying his anger.

"Boss's orders, so we have to, innocent or not." The man spoke, gripping the woman's arm tightly.

"Do you not have any morality?! Orders or not, you cant just!—" Kaelren was cut short, a hand landing on his shoulder.

Lucan. Kaelren couldn't— no, didn't trust Lucan. Ethan was a 'good' guy? If thats good, Kaelren would eat worms for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

"Don't, Vex." Kaelren scoffed, brushing Lucan's hand off his shoulder.

"It's Kaelren." He hissed, turned back to the man. Lucan gave the man a glance, and the man lowered his weapon.

Kaelren clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white from the pressure. Without any warning, he punched the man, landing it straight on his cheek.

Lucan froze.

The other man let go of the woman, unsheathing his sword, pointing it at Kaelren.

Kaelren stepped back, unsheathing his own sword, getting ready to fight the man. Kaelren was furious.

Kaelren charged at the man, the man repelling his attack effortlessly.

"Hand over the woman." Kaelren seethed, his pupils dilated.

The man scowled at Kaelren, pressuring Kaelren's sword, pushing him back forcefully. Then, the man lunged at Kaelren, aiming at his head.

Kaelren dodged by barely an inch, he could see strands of his hair being cut.

Kaelren's eyes widened slightly. Was he seriously trying to kill innocent people?

'What's wrong with their morality? Its off the charts insane.'

Kaelren dodged another attack aimed at his throat. The man furrowed his brows, lunging at him non-stop.

Kaelren played on defense, dodging and repelling all his attacks.

"What's wrong with you?!" Kaelren tried keeping his voice down, yet to no avail. His anger was slipping in and became obvious. He held the mans sword against his own, holding it in place with all the will he had, his voice wavering slightly.

"I'm just following orders." The man spoke, unfazed.

"Orders my foot! You don't even hesitate?!" Kaelren yelled angrily.

Kaerlen kept defense, that was until.. he felt as if someone hit the back of his head. His eyelids felt heavy as he couldn't move. last thing he saw was Lucas standing next to Ethan.

"Bring him to my office." Ethan spoke to Lucan, and the blonde nodded. He didn't dare defy Ethan. It seemed Kaelren didn't quite get who was in charge yet. And Ethan? He'd make sure tham Kaerlen found out, one way or another.

Lucan sighed as he slowly brought Kaerlen up onto his shoulders, carrying the male to Ethan's office.

"Boss… I don't think you should ness with him. He has.. alot of determination, for things he cares about." Lucan warned Ethan, who was walking into the office.

"My, are you telling me what to do?"

Lucan gulped, but shook his head slowly, not showing his initial nervousness.

"No sir." He replied, trying to stay calm.

"Good. Now, if you will, leave my office." Ethan told Lucan, and he hastily obeyed, closing the door behind him.
