Chapter 5 - Chapter 5- Part Four: I hate sardines

Cozy in her living room, Ming Sūlín lounged in front of the furnace, clad only in her bra and underwear. The warmth fed her creativity as she meticulously pieced together the blueprints she had traded for. Every design was complete—every one, that is, except for the backpack storage, which remained a work in progress due to her lack of leather.

Her mind drifted to the mysterious chest she had received earlier, its contents a tantalizing mystery. A flicker of temptation pulled at her to open it, but she quickly dismissed the thought. She knew that would only add to the chaos of items she'd need to sort through later that night. For now, she relished the simplicity of her task at hand, focused on her creations before the inevitable organization awaited her.

She made a total of:

• 1 stove

• 2 furnaces

• 5 sets of basic clothes using fish skins

• 2 wardrobes using 8 wood

• 1 longsword using 2 stone, 1 wood, 3 ironscales

• 1 bone bow using 1 bone, 1 fishing line

• 1 long spear using 1 stone, 2 wood

• 1 table using 4 wood

• 1 fish skin bone hammock bed

• 3 fish skin blankets, sewn together using a piece of fish bone she cut with her fillet knife and fishing line

This left her with a total of: 12 stones, 9 wood, 73 fish bone, 64 pieces of ironscales.

[You received 50 exp, 5 gold, 100 silver, 500 copper coin reward for handcrafting a yellow grade new item. Please name item.]

She just ended up naming it:

Fish Skin Blanket

[Fish Skin Blanket: used to keep warm while sleeping from cold temperatures. Permanent effect when using blanket. No cool-off time.]

What?! Is this for real?

She was completely shocked. Her understanding of the game kept getting refreshed constantly.

She also noticed that when receiving blueprints, they are catered to match the materials available in her territory.

That made it easier for her to craft things. Even if the blueprint used basic materials, the materials matched her world's and still allowed her to craft using the blueprint.

That's super cool!

Getting busy, she started placing everything in its spot—the set of clothes in one wardrobe in her room and the other in the guest room. The table was already placed between the kitchen and living room, and the stove in the mini kitchen. Her hammock was placed in her room, along with the bow, sword, and spear, which she placed inside her wardrobe.

"Ah, what a day so far."

She talked to no one in particular—just saying the words gave her a form of comfort.

Because she had survived the day and wasn't sure what was in place for her in the future—but she knew she needed to level up, survive, and upgrade her territory during the next six days of her safe period.

Right now she was currently at level one and only needed 165 exp to level up to level 2.

She also needed to collect the right materials to start setting up temporary shelters for refugees, residents, and visitors.

Though she felt that she shouldn't accept any visitors until she upgraded her planet territory to at least level two or three in defense.

Currently, she only had defense drones to stop invaders—but now she had a bit of money to spend on defenses for her planet.

Although head of Fellow Blue Planet players, she's behind all the other ones that have been here longer than them.

She felt a sense of urgency and crisis to grow stronger. It made her feel anxious—but she also couldn't rush it either. Otherwise, she'd be inviting trouble and consequences to her doorstep.

She headed to the kitchen, feeling hungry. Pulling out the fillet fish meat and lighting the stove, she took a Harco spear from her inventory. She impaled it through the fillet meat and held it over the stove fire, cooking it slow roasted.

[You received 2 private messages from merchant account: YouSeekWeFind]

She quickly selected the notification, opening her private messages to see what it was about.

YouSeekWeFind: They were last seen on the planet Darwin Skys at a slave auction. But were later seen taking off the planet heading toward a small water world where they hold auctions for goods and mermaid meat.

YouSeekWeFind: All my information comes from legit sources—with no funny business.

Ming Sūlín instantly caught on, understanding that this person is in the intelligence business and deals in information and finding people.

Me: What's your price for the info?

YouSeekWeFind: Nothing. Just think of it as an investment…

Me: And exactly what are you investing in?

YouSeekWeFind: Of course—the Big Boss. You. You're ranked first on all boards.

Me: Huh?! Ranked? Where?!

YouSeekWeFind: Hehe, no offense, no offense. I noticed your ranking and then later saw your post matching the name on the ranking board and saw you looking for your siblings. I decided I'd help you a bit.

Me: Thanks. Send me a friend request so I can add you if I need to buy information again in the near future.

YouSeekWeFind: Sending one now.

[You've received a friend request from YouSeekWeFind]

She accepted it without thinking much about it.

[YouSeekWeFind is now your friend]

Me: I accepted the request. Thanks again for the information, and I will definitely hit you up if I need something again.

YouSeekWeFind: No problem, Big Boss. I wish you the best.

After the conversation ended, she scrolled the player thread for a while until she smelled the deliciousness coming from the sardine meat roasting.

"Urggrowl."

"…erm." That was her stomach.

She brought the spear with the meat closer to her, blowing on it before ripping a piece off and stuffing it in her mouth.

"Oh hot! Hot! Hot! Ohh hee—"

The meat was still scorching hot, but it was so good. She didn't want to spit it out.

The meat was brimming with energy, making her feel energized. The rest of her fatigue had gone away.

"Good meat!" she mumbled in between bites, not caring how she looked as she ate like a starving animal.

"Ehlck—cough." She choked a bit, her throat dry, needing moisture.

"Water." She croaked, rushing to a window, opening it up and using her hand as a cup—filling it with fresh rainwater and drinking it.

After doing this process a couple times until she got her fill, she cleaned up her mess and headed back into her room.

Closing the door, she popped into her hammock, rolled up in her fish skin blanket, feeling quite comfortable—before dozing off for the night.
