Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Drawing the Sword

Chapter 15: Drawing the Sword

In Gollen Village, Seraph arrived at his house and entered, watching his mother cooking. Time passed, and he saw a field of bright green leaves, the leaves resembling a field prepared for harvesting rice. A man sat on the ground.

He watched people dressed like farmers harvesting golden rice. A boy sat there, looking at him with long golden hair and red eyes, each with a golden X. His name was Arthur.

He was dressed in ordinary clothes. Arthur watched the villagers reap the harvest. It was morning. Arthur, dressed in farmer clothes at the age of five, looked up at the sky and saw a group of red-robed warriors flying through the sky at high speed, their faces showing signs of urgency. Among the warriors, some were seriously injured.

Arthur looked at him curiously. Arthur turned to look at himself. His calm face betrayed fear. A black, half-sized wolf-like creature was running around, its red teeth capable of shaking people's bones. Its red eyes expressed bloodlust. Arthur sat comfortably basking in the breeze.

Shouting loudly to warn the surrounding people and farmers to flee, "Demons! Demons! Demons! Run away!" A farmer looked up at Arthur and then turned to look in the direction Arthur was looking. At first, the farmer thought it was a lie.

But when he saw what was running towards him, it was nearly a hundred demons running in great numbers. The demonic footsteps were deafening. "Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!"

The farmer shouted, "Run! The black wolves are coming!" At the man's voice, the farmer ran away, shocked by the number of demons that kept running. Arthur shouted and ran away as well. A pack of over a hundred black wolves chased and destroyed the farmer's property with their stomping motions.

Arthur ran away in a hurry. [What the hell is going on? How could so many demons have come here?] Arthur pulled out a magical item. It was a golden cloak the size of Arthur. The ability is to shine light.

"Sigh… This is such a pointless magical weapon. Why can't he have a sword or something like everyone else? The ability to create light?" Arthur looked at the warriors responsible for protecting the demons from flying into the demon swarm. Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Flying in the sky above Arthur was a young woman with neck-length blue hair, blue eyes, and blue clothing. Her name was Riku, a fifth-level warrior in her twenties. Riku stood in midair with a group of people wearing the same uniform as her.

It was the Heavenly Breaking Sect. Riku looked at them to analyze. [The Black Wolf Demons, a level 1 threat, scattered in disarray. Was it a demon giving orders? Or was it something that had appeared that caused them to flee from the area? The Heavenly Breaking Sect will probably start sending people to deal with this place soon.] Riku smiled.

"You guys go and stall for time. I'll go check inside the forest.

"The girl from the Heavenly Breaking Sect began flying down to stop the Black Wolf Demons.

Riku flew into the herd of demons to investigate, flying into the forest. Arthur, who was running away, looked up at the sky and saw a young woman, Riku, floating in mid-air, very close to him. Riku flew down and swung his hand towards Arthur with a loud bang. Arthur was knocked unconscious, and Riku's hand carried Arthur into the forest. Everyone tried their best to escape. No one saw Arthur. Riku carried Arthur into the forest.

[Going in alone is dangerous, so this little boy was used to lead the way. A similar incident occurred in the past. The person who went to investigate found a great treasure A life that was prosperous thanks to the treasure's abilities, made that man's life more secure. Bringing others into it would make me

miss my chance and have to share it with others. But if it were this child, I could just let him die, claiming it was the work of a demon. Be happy, little one. You'll be my guide to a better life.]

Time passed. Riku flew at high speed and looked up at himself. His smiling face was stunned. In front of him was a single sword, a golden figure stuck in the ground, emitting a gentle aura. The blade was beautiful enough to captivate anyone. The ancient design with the letter X at the center of the handle. Riku flew down and stepped on the ground. Thud!

"This is... What level of magical item is this? My magical item is only level five, but this feels like level six. Maybe even higher?" [What a blessing! This is really pushing my luck. After just starting work as a city guard, I didn't expect to find such a magical item without effort. Haha. This weapon is mine. But first, to be on the safe side,

Many people, upon seeing a magical item, immediately rush to snatch it. But something like this is almost ninety percent likely a trap. This type of magical weapon is probably created by natural forces. If you don't cut down the tree first, you won't be able to retrieve it. You'll have to subdue the weapon. Plus, the surrounding traps will likely cause

it to work. Haha, this is a good idea. Grab a farmer's boy to test him. If something happens, you'll know how to prepare. But if nothing happens and this weapon belongs to this kid, you can kill the owner and snatch it. I'm so smart right now!] Riku thought about ordering Arthur to grab the sword stuck in the ground for his own safety.

Riku swung his foot and kicked Arthur. Phew! Thud! Ugh! Arthur opened his eyes and saw Riku's smiling face. "Alright, kid, go get me that sword." Arthur opened his eyes and stood up.

He looked at the golden sword lodged in the ground, along with the face of the young woman, Riku. "This woman brought me here and ordered me to do this. What happened?" Arthur, being a child and unable to comprehend what was happening, agreed anyway, as Riku was from the Heavenly Breaking Sect. Arthur took nine steps forward, his expression still filled with confusion.

Arthur stopped in front of the golden sword. He reached out, ready to draw it.
