The war room was tense, Matteo's words about the prophecy and Elias ringing in my ears as we sat around the table, the morning sun barely cutting through the estate's heavy curtains. Annalyn's pregnancy was weighing on her, her hand on her stomach, the focus stone glowing softly in her other hand.
My wolf was restless, pissed that the council was closing in, and Matteo's intel about our kid being the key to controlling Moon Alpha power had me on edge. Calix was flipping a knife, Ezra's runes flickered, and I needed to know everything Matteo heard.
"Spill it all, Matteo," I said, leaning forward. "What else did the Visayas say?"
He rubbed his bruised wrists, his voice low. "Not much more. Just that Elias is rallying the council for a big move. The kid's power—they think it can amplify or destroy the Moon Alpha's essence. They want it bad."
Annalyn's eyes narrowed, her voice sharp. "Amplify? So they could control me through the baby?"
