Mara's demand to join our bond had flipped the prophecy, and the war room was a mess of tension as we tried to wrap our heads around it. Annalyn clutched the focus stone, her pregnancy making her pale but her eyes fierce, while Lucas paced, Calix sharpened his knife, and Matteo tapped his laptop.
My runes were buzzing, Lira's spirit a faint echo in my mind, and the Moon Alpha's voice whispered about balance. Mara stood by the warded door, their Visaya runes flickering, and we had to adapt to this shift fast or risk losing everything to Elias.
"This prophecy change is nuts," I said, my runes glowing as I studied a scroll. "Mara's demand is splitting the power—Annalyn, you're still the core, but Mara's pulling energy."
Annalyn frowned, rubbing her stomach. "So, what? I'm weaker now?"
Lucas growled, stopping mid-pace. "No way. We keep you strong, prophecy or not."
