Episode 21: The Seal Awakens — Prelude to Chaos
Dark clouds churned above as the trembling earth whispered of ancient wrath.
Faizi Tian stood atop the main peak of his sect, his robes fluttering wildly in the storm that had suddenly emerged. The vision of his ancestor still haunted his thoughts — the flame, the seal, the sacrifice. And now, the Demon Seal beneath the sect wasn't just pulsing — it was awakening.
Across the entire mountain range, the land trembled softly. In the core chamber of the sect, where the foundation stone lay untouched for centuries, glowing runes began to crawl across the floor — ink-black and burning red. The seal was no longer dormant.
Elder Yao, sensing the surge of energy, rushed to Faizi's side.
"Faizi Tian!" he called, struggling to maintain his footing in the storm. "The earth veins are moving! What is happening?!"
Faizi turned to him, his voice calm but heavy. "It's not the earth veins. It's the seal. The prison beneath us is reacting to the cracks in its bindings."
"What does that mean?"
Faizi stared into the storm clouds above. "It means something inside is still alive."
Suddenly, a deafening pulse rang out. A shockwave burst from beneath the main hall, blowing open the gates and shaking the entire sect. Disciples stumbled, elders rushed into defensive positions, and beasts on nearby peaks roared in fear.
Then… silence.
And from that silence rose a single figure.
A projection of a man — cloaked in black armor, crowned in bone, with eyes like bleeding stars — slowly materialized in the sky. He was not real, not flesh, but a memory — a remnant echo of a being once sealed beneath the earth.
His voice rolled like thunder. "This land… this seal… this flame… All belong to the Abyss."
Faizi Tian leapt into the air, golden flame dancing around him. "You are a ghost of the past. This world belongs to none of you."
The projection tilted its head. "You carry the flame… The same as he did. The traitor who sealed us. Interesting."
Faizi's eyes narrowed. "That traitor was my ancestor."
The memory-lord's voice turned cold. "Then you, too, shall burn with him."
A beam of abyssal energy shot down from the projection, aimed directly at the Demon Seal's heart. Faizi reacted instantly, summoning a golden barrier formed from his soul flame — the **Fallen Heaven Barrier**. It clashed with the abyssal force in a brilliant explosion of light and darkness.
The sky cracked. Space twisted.
But the seal held… barely.
As the projection faded, its final words echoed:
> "The seal is breaking… The Abyss is coming… Prepare your world for extinction."
The storm ceased. The skies cleared. But the silence was louder than any roar.
Faizi descended slowly, eyes cold, fists clenched.
He turned to Elder Yao and the gathered sect.
"This… was only a warning. The real war is coming. I need to awaken the full power of the Fallen Heaven Flame — and that means venturing into the Flame Inheritance Grounds."
Elder Yao's eyes widened. "That place is forbidden! No one who entered has ever returned."
Faizi's expression didn't waver. "Then I'll be the first."
As night fell, Faizi Tian sat alone at the edge of the main peak, staring at the stars. He whispered to himself:
> "Ancestor… you left me your legacy. Now I must walk your path — and finish your war."
From the depths below, the Demon Seal pulsed once more… quietly… but hungrily.
