Fallen Heaven Rise of Faizi Tian
Episode 27 – Flames on the Horizon
The sky above the Faizi Syed Ancient Sect burned in shades of crimson and gold, though no sun was setting.
It was the reflection of the Demon Seal's disturbance — a wave of corrupted energy that pulsed like a dying heartbeat.
Faizi Tian stood at the highest terrace of the Hall of Fallen Flames, eyes locked on the distant mountains where the seal was hidden.
Elder Yao joined him, his weathered face set in grim lines.
> Elder Yao: "This is no ordinary fluctuation, Sect Master. Something — or someone — is probing the seal from the other side."
Faizi's hand tightened around the Flame Soul Blade.
"I felt it too. The seal's pulse is weaker than it was yesterday… If it breaks now, before I've mastered the Eternal Flame…"
The wind shifted.
From beyond the sect gates, a single figure approached, his steps unhurried, yet every movement carried the weight of years in battle.
His robe was dark teal, lined with serpent-scale patterns, and a faint emerald flame curled at his fingertips.
The disciples whispered as he passed.
> Disciple: "Who is that? His aura… it's like a storm waiting to break."
Elder Yao straightened. "Sect Master… this is Elder Ren. He claims he's here to offer aid."
Faizi's gaze sharpened. "Aid… or opportunity?"
Ren bowed slightly, his voice calm but deep.
"I come with knowledge of the Demon Seal… and a way to strengthen it. But such knowledge has its price."
Faizi didn't answer immediately. The man's presence was… unsettling.
His flame felt different — not purely righteous, not entirely corrupt.
It was like fire that had burned in two worlds.
The three elders walked into the inner council chamber. The great phoenix emblem of the sect glowed behind Faizi's throne.
Elder Ren laid out a scroll, its surface etched with ancient runes and a diagram of the Demon Seal.
> Elder Ren: "This seal was never meant to last forever. It feeds on the lifeforce of the land… and that source is running dry. If you wish to keep it from breaking, you will need more than flame — you will need a piece of the Abyss itself."
Elder Yao's eyes widened. "You speak of forbidden flame, Ren! That power destroys the soul!"
Ren's expression didn't change. "And yet… it is the only thing that can keep your enemies locked away."
Faizi's mind raced. Forbidden flame… a risk to his own soul, and to his sect if it went wrong. But the alternative was the seal's collapse — and the awakening of the Abyss Flame Monarch.
Before he could answer, a deep tremor shook the earth. The council chamber's torches flared wildly.
Outside, the disciples' shouts filled the air.
A crack had appeared in the mountains — the seal was bleeding black flame into the sky.
Faizi stood, his golden fire surging around him.
"Elder Ren… whether I trust you or not, for now… you're coming with me."
Ren gave a thin smile. "I was hoping you'd say that."
The two men vanished in a blaze of flame-step movement, Elder Yao following close behind.
Far away, deep beneath the mountains, something stirred… and laughed.
