Chapter 3 - We meet people, we lose people

They were on a video call when she got a number of notifications on her phone which turned out to be emails. She often uses her laptop to facetime so without ending the call, she opened the emails and screamed in excitement as she read them. She told Kelly about every single one of them and instead of Kelly being genuinely happy for her, she faked a smile and said she had something to do before ubruptly cutting the call.

After that she was unavailable for a week. She didn't answer calls, and all the texts sent through social media platforms went unanswered. When she showed up, she ended the friendship but never gave the reason behind it. Tiana had never been one to push people to talk but this was her bestfriend, practically her sister. She tried everything she could to fix the relationship but it was all in vain.

She only found out some months later that Kelly was engaged to her first boyfriend; Julian, whom Kelly used to hate. Or at least pretend to hate. Kelly used to tell her that Julian was not good enough for her and that she deserves better than that. She still doesn't know if that was the reason Kelly broke up with her but she has pretended not to care till this day. As she thought of how easily their years of friendship were broken, the server arrived at her table with her order, pulling her out of her thoughts and she had her meal.

As she approached the figure, Katrina couldn't help but feel like she's seen the guy before. The guy stood tall by the corner of the balcony, with one of his hands in his pocket while the other held the cigar over to his face. The guy seemed to be thinking about something as he leisuresly smoked his cigar. He was about 6'5 feet tall and his broad shoulders weren't hidden inside his hoodie. Katrina never thought a smoking person would look so hot until she stood there silently watching the stranger. As she stood five feet away from the guy, she wanted nothing more than to record this scene on her phone.

"Take a pic."

Katrina was snapped out of her thoughts by the cold low voice. She shook bashed her eye lashes a few times before realizing that the guy was actually talking to her.

"What?"

"It lasts longer." The guy nonchalantly replied without even sparing her a glance.

"Oh..." Katrina shamelessly took out her phone and took a few pictures.

Seeing the girl actually listening to him, the guy hurriedly looked at her with a cold look on his face and Katrina was able to snap a few more pictures of his front view.

"Do you want to die?" Wesley asked with gritted teeth as he turned his body to face her.

"Huh?" She looked up from her phone only to be met with his cold murderous face. She quickly used her hands to cover her arms because of the sudden cold breeze that hit her. Kendin had forced her to wear a mini skirt and a strapless crop top claiming that this outfit showed off her beautiful slim figure. She regrets letting him get the best of her more than anything about that but she didn't have the time to think about that right now.

"Delete them." He coldly ordered.

"Why should I?"

Despite seeing the cold aura emitting from the guy in front of her, Katrina stubbornly raised her head high and glared back at him. This caused the guy to raise a brow in surprise.

No one has ever questioned him. As the first and only son of Mr and Mrs Wesley, people treat him with the outmost respect wherever he goes. Seeing how this girl; who was obviously afraid of him, didn't back down, he was amused. He threw the cigar over the balcony after extinguishing the fire with the rails of the balcony.

A cold smile grew on his face as he approached her. At that moment, Katrina wanted nothing but to flee the scene at that second but her feet seemed glued to the ground. Wesley stood directly in front of her and used his right hand to raise her chin so she was looking up at him. Katrina was 5'5 feet tall naturally but she was wearing high hills so she was a few inches taller. However, she still had to look up at Welsey for their eyes to meet.

After a minute of eye contact, Wesley asked, "Have we met before?"

Realization hit her as soon as she heard his question. The guy in front of her, holding her chin so that she could look directly at his face, is the same guy she met at the school cafeteria. This cold hot guy is the reason she's at this place tonight. Her cheeks flushed so hard she felt like there was a fire burning a few inches from her face. She moved her eyes from his and stared at their feet in embarrassment. She didn't know why she was suddenly feeling embarrassed because she never did anything wrong. It was this jerk who was rude the other day. At the thought of that, Katrina stubbornly moved her eyes back to his face but she was distracted by the smirk on his face.

Seeing her blush that hard and even avoid his eye contact, Wesley suddenly remembered the girl who bumped into him the other day at the cafeteria. He smiled harder and watched her face turn from embarrassed to stubborn and back to embarrassed as she realized she's been staring at his lips.

He used his thumb to carass her cheeks which had turned red from embarrassment and said,

"Ohh little bunny. So it's you. I was wondering if that encounter was an illusion. You sure are hard to find."

As he continued to speak, the smirk on his face only seemed to get wider and wider.
