"Mrs. Mikoto was super close with your mom—like besties, even talking about how if they had daughters, they'd make them sworn sisters, or if both were boys, they'd be brothers, and if it turned out one of each... well, then they'd become in-laws!"
Sakura explained with a smile. Thinking back to the original storyline, although they weren't brothers by blood, their bond had surpassed that of brothers—they'd become closest partners, like brothers.
"Sakura, do you know who my parents are?" Naruto asked urgently. He'd been an orphan since childhood, always longing for what other kids had—the company of parents.
"Your parents were great heroes. Without them, Konoha wouldn't be here today!"
Sakura held up a finger seriously. "Right now I can't tell you everything—I don't want to put you in danger. But once you've grown strong enough, I'll tell you everything, and you'll even get to meet them again someday!"
"Is that so?" Though slightly disappointed, Naruto quickly regained his determination. "Don't worry, I will definitely work hard to become stronger!"
"Meet them again?" Mikoto Uchiha looked surprised. Could it mean the Fourth and his wife hadn't really died?
"Chakra sealing," Sakura pointed at Naruto's abdomen, and instantly Mikoto understood. The Uzumaki clan had been masters of [Sealing Technique]. It seemed that before their deaths, the Fourth and his wife must have sealed their own chakra inside Naruto.
Chapter Twenty-Four: The Key to Solving the Problem [Part 1]
"We have guests?" Fugaku Uchiha walked in from outside, glancing at Naruto with slight confusion in his eyes.
"Honey, come here! This is Kushina's child!" Mikoto Uchiha stood up, taking Naruto's hand.
"Kushina and Minato's child?" A look of realization, nostalgia, and even faint guilt flickered across Fugaku's face. "If only I hadn't worried about the Elder Council… Minato and Kushina wouldn't have…"
Naruto looked to Sakura for support, confused by the intense gaze. Why did this new uncle stare at him so strangely?
"Isn't Senior Fugaku going to invite us in for a seat?" Sakura broke the melancholy atmosphere. If Fugaku kept standing there lost in painful memories, night would fall before they got anything done.
Everyone entered the house and sat down. Mikoto went to prepare dinner while Sakura sent Naruto and Sasuke off to help her in the kitchen. Only Fugaku Uchiha and his guest remained in the living room.
"You came here today for more than just telling us that Minato's son is alive, right?" Fugaku wasn't stupid—he knew well enough that Sakura's unexpected visit to the Uchiha clan couldn't possibly be just a casual visit.
"You know me already?" Sakura felt puzzled; she didn't recall ever meeting Fugaku before.
"The Third mentioned you. He told me you might hold the key to easing tensions between Konoha and the Uchiha clan," Fugaku answered straightforwardly, readily revealing the Third's involvement.
"There actually is a way to loosen things up," Sakura said with a slight nod. Just as expected, the old man sure knows what he's doing.
"If at all possible, of course I'd rather fully fix things!" Fugaku Uchiha's eyes showed a hint of curiosity. Sakura didn't act anything like a regular kid. "But I'd like to hear both options!"
"If Fugaku-senpai wants the Uchiha clan to temporarily integrate into Konoha, it's not overly complicated. It can actually be pretty simple—all it takes is a few changes!"
Sakura got straight to the point and said, "First, there's the issue of clothing. The Uchiha clan always prefers wearing their own signature attire while rarely donning the standard vests issued to Konoha ninja. This makes the Uchiha often seem detached from Konoha itself. No matter what achievements you accomplish, people will perceive them simply as the Uchiha clan's accomplishments rather than recognizing the Uchiha as members of Konoha making contributions. As a result, villagers in Konoha have very little sense of acceptance toward you. No matter how much effort you put in, in their eyes, it will still seem like outsiders contributing to Konoha, not one of their own sacrificing for it. To change this perception, you could start by altering your clothing style—have every ninja in the Uchiha clan wear the standard vest issued by Konoha."
"Second is the issue of personality. The pride that runs deep in the Uchiha clan makes it hard for you to lower your guard and engage with others. Even when your intentions are good, your pride often ends up spoiling things. Take the Uchiha compound placement, for example. Konoha placed your compound in one of the most remote corners of the village, but instead of speaking out against it, you simply silently held grudges. Not only does this approach achieve nothing, it ends up making things worse. Therefore, the Uchiha must begin changing their personality—actively reach out to engage with Konoha villagers, starting with small actions like opening essential stores within the village. Over time, as people become accustomed to having the Uchiha around, they'll naturally stop excluding you."
"Third is the issue of image. Members of the Uchiha clan tend to be overly serious. You should smile more so the people of Konoha see your warmth instead of thinking you're cold. Even though you have a lot of passion inside, your blank expressions push people away without meaning to. This behavior definitely needs to change."
"And finally, there's the matter regarding the police force. Honestly, this is actually the most severe problem. Although the Konoha Police Force seems prestigious on the surface, its role inevitably creates enemies. Maintaining public order in Konoha means you're bound to offend many people, and their relatives or friends affected by these actions will also develop negative feelings toward the Uchiha. Ultimately, despite accomplishing numerous tasks to safeguard Konoha's peace, you receive no gratitude and instead earn endless resentment."
"As for this last issue, Senior Fugaku, you should consider delegating part of the authority of the police force to allow other clan ninja, even civilian ninja, to join the ranks of the police. It is crucial to separate the concepts of 'Uchiha' and 'Konoha Police' entirely. Although doing so may seem like weakening the Uchiha clan's influence within Konoha at first glance, it enables other clans and ninja to share some pressure. In the end, even if the villagers of Konoha harbor dislike, their grievances would target the police force itself—not the Uchiha clan."
