After traveling nonstop for several days, the group finally reached the border. As soon as they landed, Guy dropped to his knees and tears streamed down his face. They had finally arrived at their destination, and thankfully, his youthful spirit hadn't been completely worn away yet.
Receiving a notification about four strange people falling from the sky, Shikaku Nara immediately thought of the information the Third had given him earlier. Without delay, he rushed out from the tent.
"This is..."
Shikaku twitched slightly at the sight of Guy sobbing on the ground, feeling a sudden headache coming on.
"He's just expressing gratitude that his youth hasn't completely faded away," Kakashi replied casually, already quite familiar with Shikaku.
"So this must be Sakura! The Third already told me about you!" Shikaku looked at Sakura with intense curiosity—not only because of the intelligence the Third provided but more importantly because this Sakura was close friends with his own son and had even changed his lazy personality, something Shikaku found hard to believe.
"Hello, Uncle Shikaku!" Sakura smiled brightly while greeting him. He was famous in the ninja world for his sharp mind—but tragically, his life ended when he was caught in a Tailed Beast Ball from the Ten-Tails. Still, his son eventually became an advisor to the Hokage just like him, continuing the tradition of the Nara clan.
"Hello, Elder Shikaku!" Shisui also greeted respectfully, always showing great respect toward senior figures like Shikaku.
"Hey there, Elder Shikaku!" Guy jumped up, leaving traces of dried tears on his face. After flashing his signature toothy grin, he suddenly started running around the camp on his hands, ignoring everyone else's expressions of complete bewilderment.
"Come on! Youth! Rise up again! If I can't do two hundred laps on my hands, then I'll punish myself with three thousand push-ups!"
Guy shouted excitedly while running off, drawing confused looks from all the shinobi around the camp.
"Elder Shikaku, the situation doesn't seem very good right now," Kakashi asked, noticing the heavy atmosphere. Walking through the camp, he hadn't seen a single smile on anyone's face.
"Hmm. It seems like the Cloud Village has firmly decided to go to war with us. They've gathered a large number of shinobi and even sent over the Two-Tails Jinchuriki," Shikaku responded grimly. That fleeting figure yesterday across the opposing camp was indeed the same Two-Tails Jinchuriki mentioned in the reports. Since they were willing to deploy a Jinchuriki, it was clear they truly intended to start a war.
"The Two-Tails Matatabi?" Sakura mused for a moment. The Two-Tails Jinchuriki was Yugito from the Cloud Village—an incredibly strong opponent who originally got captured by Hidan and Kakuzu in the story. More importantly, the Jinchuriki of the Cloud Village could fully control their tailed beast.
"The Third said you have a way to force the enemy to withdraw their troops!" Even with Shikaku's level of intelligence, this still puzzled him somewhat. How could a four-year-old child possibly convince the Cloud Village to back down? After all, the Cloud ninjas were infamous warmongers.
"I've got an idea! Just invite them to watch a meteor shower!" Sakura laughed. Meteor showers weren't common events, and she imagined that if Cloud Village watched one, they would surely retreat peacefully.
"A meteor shower?!" Several people instinctively raised their eyebrows, question marks hovering above their heads. Could simply watching a meteor shower really make Cloud Village withdraw?
Finally, Choza Akimichi, unable to hold back his curiosity, voiced this question aloud.
"Just watching a meteor shower won't naturally make them retreat obediently. But what if we let them have a close and intimate experience with it?!"
Sakura smiled sweetly, but both Shikaku Nara and Kakashi, along with Shisui, all widened their eyes in shock. They weren't fools—they immediately understood what Sakura meant. Meteor? That was none other than a deadly shower of meteors! Getting up close and personal with that kind of thing would definitely result in being smashed to death.
"Can you really do that?" Shikaku couldn't help but ask. If someone could manipulate meteors, it would pose an existential threat to any shinobi village or country.
"No problem! I can definitely create a small meteor shower!" Sakura gave an 'OK' sign with her fingers before sighing slightly, "It's a shame I'm still too weak right now. Otherwise, I'd pull down an entire asteroid for them as a real surprise!"
"Hmph," Shikaku muttered with an awkward chuckle. Surprise? More like terror! Plus, an object the size of an asteroid falling from the sky—Cloud Village wouldn't just be destroyed. The entire shinobi world would be wiped out—there wouldn't even be the Five Great Nations left standing.
Chapter 30: Secret Art - Mental Pollution Technique [Part 1] [Second Update]
While these people were discussing inside the tent, outside came waves of shouting and cursing—some from Konoha's side, some from the opposing direction.
"What are they doing?" Hearing the commotion outside, Sakura wore an expression of puzzlement. Did ninja wars now include a cursing phase?!
"In recent times, the pressure on the border guards has been tremendous, so this activity developed. Every day, both sides stand right at the borderline and hurl curses at each other. It's become a way to relieve tension before war officially breaks out."
Shikaku chuckled slightly. These border guards faced enormous pressure indeed. Not only did they need to constantly watch for possible incursions from enemies, but also had to prevent rogue ninjas from escaping their own ranks. Vigilance was required every moment. Therefore, this behavior where ninjas simply stood within their territory hurling abuse toward the enemy had long since become nothing unusual for him.
"I'll go check it out!" Sakura became interested. In her past life, she'd faced off against multiple keyboard warriors single-handedly in heated verbal battles online—scenes which still made her heart race with excitement today. Seeing such a similar situation now, Sakura felt her fighting spirit stirring once again.
A group of people walked together to the front lines. At the edge of the camp, several individuals wearing Konoha ninja vests stood there with hands on their waists, muttering and cursing under their breaths. In contrast, at the Cloud Village's camp across from them, just as many ninjas stood facing Konoha's side, shouting curses right back. The sight was so familiar it almost felt like Sakura had stumbled into a mother-in-law vs. daughter-in-law catfight. Especially the Cloud Village ninjas—big, muscular, dark-skinned guys shouting curses with hands on their hips—it was such a ridiculous sight that Sakura couldn't help laughing out loud.
