Chapter 16 - GB&SS 016: The Football is Bought Instead, the Villa is Near the Sea!

"The host has acquired professional football skills from the bubbles filled today: Free Kick - Full Moon Scimitar +1. Today's pickup progress is 10/10."

Cool!

It's indeed the Full Moon Scimitar!

Today's pickup was flawless!

Julian has mastered the objectives of the precise long pass and the round moon scimitar!

The vivid slow-motion image of Beckham executing the round moon scimitar played in Julian's mind.

Immediately, Julian noticed his leg muscles growing stronger and his ankle and knee joints gaining flexibility.

Today's pickup is complete!

Julian calmly spoke to Beckham, who was still visibly upset, "Don't worry, Mr. Beckham, your filming for the commercial is finished."

Beckham looked surprised, "What? Finished filming? Didn't you want me to do more takes?"

Julian smiled and assured him, "No need, my shooting style aims for absolute naturalness. Trust me, the raw footage of your moon scimitar is more impressive than any staged shot. You can watch the replay with the director."

Beckham rushed to the stationary camera, and upon hearing the director's excitement, the director quickly joined him to review the footage.

"Shocking! It's truly shocking!" exclaimed the director. "I was just considering a similar shooting method. It appears that the photographer you recommended is a real genius! Mr. Beckham, we'll use this one! No need for additional shots, just this one!"

Beckham, now in high spirits, wiped away his tears and said, "The director! Thank you so much! It's all thanks to that young photographer! He really inspired me! Quick! Someone find him! I must express my gratitude!"

The entire film crew was now searching for Julian.

Julian had already slipped away from the filming location on the beach, removed his wig and mustache, and changed his vest to remain unnoticed.

As he got into a taxi, an astonishing text message popped up on his phone:

"William Hill Gambling has transferred £86,000 to your account."

"My bonus has arrived!"

Julian calmly opened the betting software and randomly selected a game, placing 1000 pounds on the outcome with the highest odds for an upset.

Julian was well aware that these two games would not result in an upset, so the 1000 pounds was as good as lost.

However, this was all part of his strategy. He would continue to lose for a few days, always choosing games with high odds for the underdogs.

By doing so, even if the betting company tracked his activities, they wouldn't suspect anything unusual.

As for the remaining pounds, Julian could spend it at ease.

As soon as Julian stepped out of the taxi, before he had even had the chance to place his backpack in his room, Andrew rushed over and inexplicably dragged Julian to the corner.

Julian was brimming with uncertainty, "Uncle, what's going on?"

"Julian," Andrew began, stroking his sparsely haired head, "tonight there's a match between Manchester United and Liverpool. How did you manage to get tickets?"

Julian remained calm, smiling, "Uncle, last time I was just a novice, I was just testing my luck."

Andrew questioned with a stern expression, "Julian, your uncle treats you like family. Every weekend, I ask Aunt Sally to prepare lamb kidney pie for you! You can't lie to me. What did you really buy? Tell me now!"

Julian replied with resignation, "Buying is buying..."

Andrew's eyes sparkled with excitement, "How did you buy them? Quick, tell Uncle!"

Julian sighed, "Uncle, I bought them randomly. It's impossible to win. You absolutely shouldn't buy them from me."

Andrew's countenance grew serious, "Julian, Uncle treats you like a brother. Is this how you protect Uncle?"

Julian remained silent, contemplating.

"Well... I bought a 3 in 1 bet. Manchester United to win the first half, and Liverpool's Torres to score a hat-trick, with the final score being 2:5, and the odds are 275 times."

Andrew was so astonished that the hairs on his head stood up, "What? You... Did you really buy that? That's an absurd betting method!"

Julian revealed a knowing smile, "I'll just tell you, Uncle. I bought them blindly. A seasoned betting expert like Uncle can see right through my nonsense."

Andrew stroked his sparse hair and pondered with a serious expression, "Manchester United's first-half win is conceivable, but Liverpool mounting a comeback at Old Trafford, the home of the Red Devils? They're currently struggling to stay in the top six! And the final score of 5:5? The discrepancy is too much. Can Liverpool really score so many goals in the second half? And Torres, can he even score a hat-trick?"

Julian calmly responded, "So, let me explain it to you, Uncle. I really didn't have any particular intuition this time."

Andrew chuckled, "Julian, I believe in you! Asians have such mysterious power!"

Julian was at a loss for words, "Uncle, hold on... Didn't you say before that you only had 1000 pounds of personal savings? This time, you should only buy it for 30 or 50 pounds, right?"

Andrew raised an eyebrow at Julian, "Julian, you're still young. When you get to my age, you'll understand that you can't reveal the amount of your personal funds. I still have 1000 pounds - that's between us."

Julian felt a sense of foreboding.

"Uncle, I'm serious. Don't do this. Really! If you use my betting method this time, you'll definitely lose! Your 1000 pounds will be wasted!"

Andrew's expression grew serious, "Julian, you're still joking with me about what I said wrong last time? Didn't I say that betting on cold goods with your method would always lose?"

Julian was left speechless.

Andrew was elated, "Haha, 275 times the odds! Julian, do you know what that means? It means I can win 27 pounds! I've already planned how to celebrate! Julian! Instead of lamb kidney pie for lunch today, we'll have fish head pie with Gorgonzola cheese!"

As soon as Julian heard the words "Gorgonzola cheese," his stomach churned subconsciously.

"Uncle, I have something to do at noon, so I won't eat at home," Julian said.

"Ah! That's such a pity. Let's go tonight, just after watching the ball, and it's even more delicious to have cheese and fish head cakes for dinner!" Andrew's face was full of anticipation.

Julian replied hastily, "Uncle, I have something to do in the afternoon. I'll be coming back very late, so please don't wait for me."

Andrew said regretfully, "What an unfortunate coincidence. Do you need me to save some for you for dinner?"

Julian waved his hands emphatically, "No, no, thank you, Uncle! It's really not necessary!"

Andrew smiled and said, "Okay then, go and take care of your business."

Julian quickly returned to his room, took the vest out of the bag, and put it away. He tidied up briefly and opened the door to leave.

As soon as he left the room, he saw Sophie standing on the stairs with a cold and pretty face.

"What were you doing, sneaking around the corner with my dad just now?" she asked.
