Chapter 3
The Birth Of Naruto
Just hours before Naruto Uzumaki's birth
Inside a cave, on the inverse side of the Hokage Rock, Minato Namikaze was standing next to his wife, Kushina Uzumaki, holding her sweat-drenched hand, for she was in the middle of labor. Minato comforted her by saying,
"Don't worry, honey, I am here for you. I promise that Naruto will be born healthy." Minato stroked Kushina's red-hot hair that looked like flames in color.
She was currently thirteen hours into her labor, as Taji and Biwako Sarutobi rushed around making sure she was stable. In addition to the medical-nin, there were Anbu bodyguards outside the cave, ensuring that no unwanted visitors were going to discover the cave.
Kushina's whole body was drenched as if she had just run through a storm, her hair was all over the place, making it look like she had just been hit by a lightning ninjutsu. Taji was checking Kushina's vitals using her medical ninjutsu, as Minato and Biwako were making sure the seal was intact and that the Bijuu's chakra was not leaking out.
Three miles* from the end of the forest behind the Hokage Rock
While Kushina was in labor, a masked man was creating four pillars made of rocks in a lake, in preparation for his plan to extract the Nine-Tails from the Jinchūriki, Kushina Uzumaki.
Once he had created the pillars, he had inscribed a seal on them to react with the Bijuu's chakra and bind Kushina, to make the extraction easier.
In a deep raspy voice that could shake one's soul, Obito said to himself, and unknowingly to someone else, "The preparations are complete; it is about time to head over to my former master."
Not long before Kushina gives birth
Kushina moved her hand away from Minato's to grab the bar protruding out of the table she was lying on, as she let out one more moan and gasp. At this moment, Naruto Uzumaki was born, and Biwako wrapped him up in a swaddle blanket and went with Taji to hand him over to Kushina, but Minato was overly excited and tried to grab the baby.
Biwako pulled the baby Naruto away and exclaimed to Minato, "Hands off, you! Mother first, father, second."
Minato looked defeated and a little embarrassed
Biwako laid the crying baby next to his mother. Kushina looked over with a truly wonderful grin plastered onto her face. She started talking to Naruto in a soft, near angelic voice,
"So Naruto… We finally meet."
"Now, you'll have more time later," Biwako told Kushina as she pulled the baby away.
Biwako, with Taji in tow, started to walk away to put Naruto into a cradle in the back end of the cave, when Minato went over to help Kushina reseal the Nine-Tails.
With an apologetic look on his face, Minato looked at Kushina, asked, "Kushina… are you feeling alright now?"
After getting a response that she was okay, his face shifted as if he was about to cry. He thanked her for going through labor.
His mood suddenly changed as he exclaimed, "Alright! Now I realize what you've just been through, but we need to reseal the Nine-Tails!"
Just as he was about to strengthen the weakened seal, Minato heard the shrieks of Taji and Biwako. As he heard their shrieks, he looked over and saw a cloaked, masked man with his hand above Naruto's head, threateningly.
Obito said in his usual deep raspy voice, "Fourth Hokage Minato… Step away from the Jinchūriki. Or this child will die in its first minute."
With sweat dripping down from his forehead, Minato thought seriously, "How the fuck did he get past the barrier I set up? Who…is he?!"
Just as these thoughts crossed his mind, the seal on Kushina grew, and the main part of it, which resided on her stomach, grew in size, like an inflated water balloon. Kushina let out a pained groan.
"Shit! The seal is-"
"Get away from the Jinchūriki…" Obito pulled out a kunai and pointed it towards Naruto for a sure kill. "Don't you give a shit about what happens to your brat!?"
"Wait! Stay calm!"
"Don't worry, I am as calm as your student was that day."
"What-"
Just as Minato said, "what" Obito threw Naruto up, and jumped up to stab him.
"Naruto!" Both Minato and Kushina yelled.
Just as Obito was about to stab Naruto, Minato leaped into the air and grabbed him, and landed on the wall.
"Just as expected of the Yellow Flash of the Leaf," Obito said calmly, as if he planned this. "… But what about the next one..?"
Just as he said this, paper bombs that were on Naruto's swaddle blanket were lit.
Minato quickly jumped off the wall, unwrapped Naruto, threw his blanket away, and teleported to a wooden house in the middle of the forest using the Flying Raijin Jutsu, all in a matter of milliseconds.
When Minato landed in the house, he jumped forward and tucked and rolled as the house blew up, and hundreds, if not thousands, of pieces flew out, one of which landed right next to Minato's foot. But luckily, he was not injured by the blast, yet Naruto was, but only slightly.
"God-damn it, he made me use the Flying Raijin Jutsu. His plan to separate me and Kushina from each other succeeded… I have to be fast."
Just as he said that, he teleported to Naruto's room and made sure that Naruto was safe, which took a while, because Naruto was slightly hurt, so Minato had to use medical ninjutsu, which he was not good at.
At the lake, three miles from the forest
The seal on Kushina's body and the seal on the rocks interacted, as Kushina's seal wrapped around the pillars of rock. This greatly pained Kushina as she let out a struggling grunt.
Through short gasps for air, Kushina asked, "Alright… What do you want?!"
In tow, Obito responded, "I will extract the Nine-Tails from you and crush the Leaf Village with it."
Shocked by this news, Kushina yelled out, "NO, YOU CAN'T!!"
Obito stayed calm as his Sharigan shone brightly in the night. He then said,
"Minato's Flying Raijin Jutsu lets him move instantly to anything he has put a seal on using Jutsu Formulas. Those same markings reside within that seal he placed on you to seal the Nine-Tails. He did that so he could always protect you, but we are outside of his teleporting radius. In addition, the Nine-Tails seal has greatly weakened during childbirth." With his eyes narrowed, he continued, "Do you know how fucking long I've waited for this moment!?
As Kushina's eyes narrowed in fear, Kurama, who was inside of her, had his eyes narrowed with anger at recognizing who Obito truly was.
In his deep, husky voice, Kurama said, "It's you, Madara Uchiha."
As he said this in his chains, Obito's three tomoe Sharingan swirled, making Kurama's slit pupils turn to a three tomoe Sharingan to his red eyes with a black pupil.
When this happened, the chains that helped pin Kurama down to what looked like a ball of lava melted away, as he ripped his arms from the stakes and pulled out the rest of the stakes. He then roared loudly.
In the real world, Kushina had the Kyuubi cloak's initial stage activated from Kurama's seals being weakened, and him trying to escape.
Obito then said, "Now come on out. NINE-TAILS!"
Just then, Kurama's chakra formed into his face, and he then started to manifest in his actual body from his chakra. Kurama then roared into the sky.
Kushina's seal went away, and she nearly passed out after having the Nine-Tails extracted from her.
With the Nine-Tails now under his control, Obito ordered it to destroy the Hidden Leaf Village.
Kushina raised herself slightly, saying, "More hate…"
"You Uzumaki are just amazing. You don't die right after the Tailed-Beast is extracted from you… You were the Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki, so I'll let him do the honors."
The Nine-Tails then brandished his claws, supposedly smashing down on Kushina. However, Minato arrived just in time and saved her. In what looked like a yellow flash, he grabbed Kushina and then jumped to a tree in mere milliseconds.
Obito hoarsely chuckled before saying, "You truly are as quick as a flash… But sadly, you are too late."
Through short, strained breaths, Kushina managed to say, "Minato… Naruto… Is he alright then??"
Minato's face showed a happy smile, which was a drastic change from his former serious look. He then responded to Kushina, "Yes. He's fine. He's in a safe place for now."
Kushina let out a satisfied sigh, saying, "Good. Minato, that masked man is with the Nine-Tails. They are heading to the Village. Stop them."
As she said that, Minato glared towards Obito and teleported away.
"He flew away. Hmm. That's fine. Let's get to the Hidden Leaf Village."
Minato and Kushina land in Naruto's room in one of their safe houses. Minato then puts Kushina in Naruto's bed so that she can spend time with him before she dies. Kushina's face distorted to crying as she held her brand new baby son in her arms.
In a quiet whisper, Kushina said, "Naruto.."
Minato's face, which originally had a look of sadness, now had a look of anger, as he tightened his fists and threw on his Hokage cloak.
"Thank you… Minato. And good luck."
"I'll be right back." Minato sounded confident that he would defeat Obito and save Konohagakure.
In the Hidden Leaf Village
Everyone was enjoying their night as a shooting star passed by in the starry night sky. Cats were crawling through holes in fences, couples arguing, people getting drunk, and everyone just being carefree, oblivious to what was happening on the other side of the Hokage Rock.
Kakashi Hatake and Might Guy were having fun talking about what they were going to do tonight.
With a sigh, Kakashi told Guy, "Look, why don't we just do rock-paper-scissors again?"
In retaliation, Guy said, "Oh come on! There must be something more exciting we can do! And you call yourself my rival!?"
With a slight chuckle, Kakashi told Guy, "We have an early start tomorrow for the mission. So, let's just take a pass tonight."
"A mission is no excuse! I have so much pent-up energy within me that I might explode, with the power of youth! So there is no better time than right now for rigorous training! Honest to goodness, discipline and hard work will lead us to success in future missions!"
Midway through Guy's speech, Kakashi stopped walking and looked as though he was in thought. Once Guy walked past him and saw him looking in thought, he yelled with his voice cracking,
"Are you even listening to me!?" Guy said, while making crazy gestures that made one question his sanity.
Kakashi looked away, with a look of not wanting to be associated with Might Guy. He then said with confusion in his voice,
"Forget that for now… Don't you sense like something is off? As if there was suddenly a dark chill in the air..?" Kakashi looked around as he said that.
In retaliation, Might Guy yelled, "The only thing that's chilly is your attitude! You must be much more hot-blooded!!" There was slight anger in his voice as he continued with his insane gestures.
In the Uchiha Compound, a young Itachi Uchiha was holding his baby brother, Sasuke Uchiha, in a sling, while looking at the full moon. He sensed something was off, just like Kakashi did.
"I feel something ominous…" Right as he said this, Sasuke started to cry, which caught Itachi by surprise, but he quickly reacted, saying,
"There there, it's okay." He rocked Sasuke while thinking, "What a strange feeling… Of all times for mom and dad to be out…"
The baby Sasuke kept crying, so in response, Itachi told him softly, "Don't cry Sasuke. No matter what happens, your big brother will protect you. I promise you that."
The third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, Minato's predecessor, also felt something was wrong while he was in his house's study.
"It can't be." Hiruzen said, taking a hit of his pipe.
Just then, the whole Hidden Leaf Village saw the sky turn darker with storm clouds covering the sky. Suddenly, a stream of lightning struck down behind the Hokage Rock, while in the air, it looked like a giant animal.
There was suddenly a boom that came from the back side of the Hokage Rock as shock waves that went out for fifty miles* in each direction.
Just as the shock waves died down a little, multiple streams of lightning lit up the cloudy night sky. All the streams connected as they took on a reddish-orange hue, and suddenly took on a material form of the Nine-Tailed Fox.
