Kaiden took a step forward.
Whoosh!
He quickly took a step back as someone almost slammed into him. The person stopped just in time, her boots screeching against the stone floor. A faint breeze swept past his face, carrying the sharp smell of cheap perfume and dust.
It was a girl.
She brushed her hair out of her face, her eyes bright and impatient like someone who had already done this a thousand times. Her aura still carried traces of wind energy swirling faintly around her.
Kaiden frowned, annoyed. He didn't say anything, but his eyes showed it clearly.
The girl didn't even notice or maybe she just didn't care. She took a deep breath and said in a quick, practiced tone, "Welcome to the Eryndor Institute of Ascension. I'm in charge of taking care of the newbies."
Kaiden's annoyance calmed a little. So that's what this was about.
She wasn't here to bother him, just doing her job.
Still, her energy was a bit much.
