Kaiden finally stepped forward when he couldn't take it anymore. The elder had been going on and on like an old parrot that just discovered it could talk. The man was still standing beside Gareth, praising him like he just gave birth to the sun itself.
Kaiden rubbed his forehead. If he had to stand there and listen for another second, he'd probably die from boredom.
He took a step forward and said, "Excuse me… I also have an awakening to do."
The words came out calm, but there was a hint of irritation behind them.
Elder Daren turned around slowly, looking at Kaiden like someone had just asked him to clean the floor. His nose wrinkled a little. That same look of disgust again.
"Ah… yes. The other one," the elder said dryly, his tone almost mocking.
He sighed, like even talking to Kaiden was a waste of oxygen. Then he stepped back lazily. Gareth too moved aside, giving him space.
