Kaiden finally reached it.
Graven Hall.
He stood right in front of the old black gate, staring at the huge building that stretched out in front of him like it got tired of existing a long time ago. The walls looked cracked in some areas, but not the normal cracked. More like the building had been punched and clawed at by something that didn't have any business punching anything. The air around the place felt thicker than the rest of the academy too, like the wind didn't even want to blow through here.
Rena stayed far behind him. She didn't get any closer than maybe thirty something metres. She just stood there hugging her arms like the cold grabbed her.
"Kaiden," she called out. Her voice sounded thin. "I am… I'm sorry. I can't go any further."
Kaiden turned his head a bit and saw her waving at him with this guilty look on her face.
She tried to smile but it came out shaky. "I'll meet you tomorrow, okay?"
Kaiden nodded once. "Yeah. Tomorrow."
Then he turned back to the gate.
