Early the next morning, the first rays of sunlight entered through the cracked windows of the abandoned house where they had spent the night.
William sat on the small sofa in the living room, holding one of the family photographs he had taken the previous day. Frank and Amaya stood nearby, watching him quietly.
William looked down at the photograph for a moment. The picture showed a smiling young woman standing with what appeared to be her parents outside their home.
He took a slow breath.
Then he closed his eyes.

Almost immediately, visions began to form in his mind—fragments of memories belonging to the girl in the photograph.
