Rico walked down into the basement of the Gym and looked around before walking over behind Edgelady. "Okay, what do we have?"
"Which do you want first?" Edgelady asked with a chuckle. "The darkweb job? The job from the commissioner? The possible new mercenaries? Or me? Which do you want first?" She asked with a seductive tone.
"Commissioner job." Rico answered as he walked over and grabbed a chair and brought it over to where Edgelady was sitting so he could look over her shoulder.
"Killjoy." She sighed as he rejected her invitation. "Okay, the commissioner job. There is a man wanted in the murder of his coworkers. He disappeared the day the murders occurred along with over a million dollars that he is suspected of stealing. He was spotted in Bialya but they can't pursue the lead since there is no extradition."
"Interesting, put a pin in that. We will pursue it later. But I want to look into why he went to Bialya first. Now, the darkweb job." Rico asked as he glanced over the information. Everything looked to be on the up and up.
"This one is actually from another Gothamite. Mister Fries. It appears that LexCorp managed to locate his wife and kidnapped her while he was in Arkham. He is out now and wants her back, especially now that he believes he made a cure for her condition." Edgelady pulled up a few files. "I already looked into it, looks like LexCorp has indeed acquired her and are experimenting on her in hopes of recreating Fries abilities. I know she is at one of their offsite off the books facilities but I have not figured out which one."
"Keep looking, but that sounds like a possible job." Rico agreed only because it was not directly connected to LexCorp. So they would have no legal standing if they failed to hide that they were responsible. "Now the mercenaries."
"We have Katana coming this way. I was able to get in contact by way of proxy and she is on her way to Gotham. I think I will be able to personally reach out and get her on board. I have some info that might help her find resolution." Edgelady explained, "do I have your permission to handle it?"
"Yes, but bring Ivy for security." Rico decided to agree with her request.
"Bronze Tiger was killed during his job. In an ironic twist they are saying that Green Arrow killed him. The FBI are hunting him down. It seems like some group is assisting the FBI behind the scenes." Edgelady explained as photos of the crime scene appeared. Bronze Tiger had been hit in the chest by arrows several times and was sticking him to a wall.
"Brutal. You do not have to watch it as closely but keep an ear down just in case." Rico told her.
"Okay I will do that. Moving on to the next list of names. Chesire, Sportsmaster, Lady Shiva, Deathstroke, Deadshot, KGBeast, Captain Boomerang, Tigress, and Artemis Crook. KGBeast was captured and is part of the not so secret Task Force X, the same is true with Deadshot and Captain Boomerang." Edgelady explained pulling up some footage of them 'dying' in prison.
"Of course they are." Rico sighed, "what about the rest?"
"Nothing on Sportsmaster, Shiva, Deathstroke, or Artemis Crook." Edgelady brought up another page. "But Tigress and Cheshire are both out of work and interested. Interestingly enough neither of them are together, but it looks like the pair think alike. What do you think?"
"Extend the invitation. But we will need to tread lightly. I can handle it personally. Anything else?" Rico told her as he prepared to get up. Not really expecting there to be anything else. He was disappointed.
"Yes actually, I have a Rose Wilson trying to respond using the Deathstroke alias. My research shows that it is his daughter. Then I also have a few feelers out to a few criminals: Copperhead, Cheetah, Killer Frost, Lynx, White Rabbit, and Silver Banshee. I then figured out that someone out there is snatching up criminals and mercenaries by the dozen." Edgelady explained as she pulled up some footage, it was of a criminal, Riddler, running into an alley. He was followed by what looked like a tactical team.
"That reminds me of what my uncle did. I think someone is about to make a big move and all the big underworld players are in on it." Rico explained as he thought back. "Spend some of the company's pot on additional security and see if you can buy up our entire block."
"You think a war is coming. Or at least something big enough to shake the scene?" Edgelady asked as she looked over her shoulder at him.
"Something as big as the Justice League." Rico answered as he leaned back and thought for a moment before nodding. "I will head out on the job with Coin and Artemis to Bialya once we get some basic research in. I want the rest of you training and doing research and reaching out to Mister Fries."
"We are taking both jobs?" Edgelady asked as she began typing and making notes.
"Yes, if I am right then this is the time when we need to pool resources and make friends." Rico told her as he stood up. "Strange tech, allies, and friends in the right places. These are all things we will need. See about finding a place where we can hide our criminal mercenaries when you convince them."
"Understood," Edgelady answered.
Rico then thought of something. "Actually… have T-Dog help you with that task. I do not want you burning yourself out. So take care of yourself as well." Rico told her, getting a look of surprise. "While I am in the field I will see about finding you some help."
"Thank you." Edgelady hid her blush as she began quickly typing away on her computer.
