The vehicle came to a shuddering stop and the rear doors opened up. Rico watched as the other prisoners were pulled out of the vehicle. He could hear them being pushed toward their new prison. A few moments later he joined them as a pair of guards pulled him out of the vehicle not bothering to brace his head so he grunted as the gurney he was tied to bounced.
He was then pushed over into the entrance of the prison doors. He assumed a different one then the others since he could not hear the ruckus of prisoners being brought in with him. Along with the fact that he was being quickly rolled through the building. After a few minutes he was pushed into a room.
Then the clasps on his hands and legs were undone and he pulled himself up just as the doors closed. No one was in the room with him but there was a one way mirror that he knew someone was watching him through. Along with a camera in the corner of the room.
After a moment the speakers crackled to life. "Mister Bell, please change into your prison jumpsuit." The person told him. A quick use of the Eagle Vision showed him that it was one of the three people that were behind the mirror. One of them was a man in a uniform. Another was a woman and the last was a bulky man who was making motions like he was deferring to the woman.
He deactivated the vision and pulled off his shirt and pants before pulling on the Blackgate prison jumpsuit. "Am I going to be getting my lawyer this time?" Rico asked, figuring that one if not two of them were reporters or something else.
"Just put on your jumpsuit and move to the red doors." The person told him and Rico looked over at a pair of red double doors. Rico sighed as he slipped into the new prison shoes. Then he was walking over to the door and looked over at the window.
There was a ringing followed by the doors opening and he walked inside. As he walked inside the alarm continued to ring until the door closed behind him.
He then looked around and saw a number of glass box rooms on the first floor. Then on the second floor were the more traditional prison cells. While currently down in the open area was a workout and lounge area. It seemed like it was a prison yard and dining hall in one. He could see a number of people with bulging muscles and scars. There were also a few skinner people.
They were mixed between men, women, and whatever the hell the purple thing was behind that glass wall. Maybe it was the parasite? But he looked like he was starving. They were all wearing collars similar to him. But they all had the Stryker's Island white prison jumpsuits.
Rico walked a bit further into the room and the first of the other prisoners walked up to him. It was a man twice his size with a bald head and a number of tattoos. He was flanked by a bulky woman and a skinner man who had a bit of metal peaking out of his double jointed limbs.
"Can I help you?" Rico asked as they moved to block his path.
"Yeah, I am here to teach you a lesson. We were told you were from Gotham. So we just need you to understand that you are a visitor here." The bigger man smiled, revealing a set of metal teeth. "Now-"
KZzrt!
All four of them, Rico included, felt the electric pulse run through their bodies. "Disperse now. Disperse now. Disperse now." Their collars gave an automated message after the short pulse of electricity.
The trio cursed and then began walking off while Rico scratched under his neck and then moved forward. The collar was really beginning to bother him. "Prisoner BG-Z-9341, move to the blue light." The collar told him and he looked down at his tag. It really was that label. He walked toward the blue light that had lit up a moment ago. It was a metal window. As he approached it opened up and a spare jumpsuit and shoes on top of a pillow and blanket were pushed out.
He picked them up and watched as the window slammed close. Hidden inside of his shoe was a bar of soap in one and the other had a tooth brush and tooth paste. He turned around and saw a path of blue lights leading up to the second floor appeared.
"Follow the blue lights to your new cell." The collar told him and he did. He walked up to the second floor. Followed it to the third cell and stepped inside. "This is your new cell. Your cellmate has been using the bottom bunk. Get set up on the top one and then head down for breakfast. This cell block is completely contained for security reasons so you have free time the entire day. Requests can be made if you have a hobby or book you want. Then meals are served three times a day."
Rico grunted and tossed his things onto the top bunk. He then walked out of the cell and walked down stairs to the first floor. There was a window lit up with a white light where someone was standing on the other side of the glass screen. She looked at him as he approached.
"Eggs and bacon or biscuits and southern gravy?" The woman asked with a croaky voice he had only heard with chain smokers.
"Eggs and bacon." Rico responded and then pulled a tray she pushed forward he then walked to one of the tables and sat down. Beginning to eat as he looked at the people around the room. But he soon heard metallic footfalls and then he saw a metal figure stop just to his right.
He glanced over to see Metallo staring down at him. "They told us that you were coming here. But they did not tell us why. Do you mind filling me and my friends in?" He asked as he sat down in the seat next to him causing the table to squeak slightly under his weight.
