Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: Turles, Mecha Troops

One day, Rayden used long-distance voice transmission to gather everyone at Bulma's house.

He had important news to share.

"I'm leaving Earth," Rayden announced. "I'm heading out into the universe to train."

"There will be even stronger enemies in the future. Goku, you must train hard in my absence!"

"I will return!"

After giving some final instructions to the group, Rayden used Instant Transmission and disappeared in a flash.

"Rayden, goodbye!"

Everyone waved as he vanished.

---

Swish!

Rayden traveled from planet to planet using Instant Transmission, moving freely among the stars.

He was enjoying the vastness of the universe, the boundless freedom between worlds.

One day, he arrived on a planet filled entirely with yellow sand. Not a single trace of green could be seen.

"What's the deal with this planet?" Rayden muttered, scanning the barren landscape.

The ground was unstable, mostly made of quicksand. Walking across it would cause most people to sink halfway into the sand.

Just then, Rayden sensed a surge of anger from the east.

"There's a powerful presence over there. Let's check it out."

He took to the air and flew eastward, his eyes scanning the desolate land. The entire planet looked lifeless—dry trees, animal skeletons, and scorched earth stretched in every direction.

After flying for several minutes, something massive appeared in the distance—a towering tree piercing the clouds and stretching into outer space.

Rayden narrowed his eyes. "A tree that massive... don't tell me Turles is planting Spirit Trees on this planet?"

The Spirit Tree—a legendary tree that could only grow in the Divine Realm. Once planted in the mortal world, it would rapidly absorb the life force of an entire planet to grow and bear spiritual fruits.

These fruits were incredibly potent, granting massive boosts in combat power and even extending one's lifespan slightly.

However, any planet where the Spirit Tree was planted would be completely drained of life and eventually destroyed. It would take centuries for the planet to recover.

"There are so many planets in the universe, and yet I ran into this one by chance... then this Spirit Tree is mine!"

Rayden smirked.

---

Meanwhile, at the base of the Spirit Tree, Turles and his team were eagerly awaiting the fruit's ripening.

"Excellent!" Turles exclaimed. "This batch matured even faster than I expected."

"Boss, the vitality of this planet is incredible—way more than the last few."

"If we find a few more planets like this, we'll break one million in combat power in no time!"

Hahahaha!

The entire group erupted in laughter, their dreams of domination within reach.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Their scouters went off simultaneously.

"Someone's approaching!" one of them warned.

Turles narrowed his eyes and gave a quick order. "Go take care of him. Make sure you don't damage the Spirit Tree."

High above, Rayden hovered in the air, observing Turles.

He couldn't help but think, This guy looks just like Goku...

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Four of Turles' men leapt into the air and surrounded Rayden.

Seeing that Rayden hadn't moved, one of them sneered, "What's wrong? Is this guy too scared to move?"

"Who cares? Let's finish him off."

"The fruit's almost ripe. I'm getting impatient."

"Wait—the fruit's almost ready?"

Rayden's lips curved into a smile. "Then there's no need to waste time on you four. Let's just get this over with."

The invaders looked confused. "What's this guy talking about?"

Rayden answered with a Ki Blast.

Boom!

The four screamed as they were instantly obliterated, their bodies blasted into pieces.

Seeing his men wiped out in an instant, Turles realized he had to act.

With a shout, he exploded forward toward Rayden.

But to Rayden, Turles' speed looked sluggish—like a snail trying to sprint.

Rayden casually raised his right hand and caught Turles' punch with ease.

No matter how much Turles struggled, he couldn't break free.

"Damn you!"

With his free hand, Turles formed an energy blast and hurled it at Rayden's chest.

Boom!

A huge explosion erupted, sending dust and smoke billowing into the air.

But when the smoke cleared...

Rayden stood there completely unharmed—not even a scratch on his clothes.

Meanwhile, Turles was bruised and battered, injured by the recoil of his own attack.

"How... how is that possible?!"

Turles stared in disbelief. His strongest attack had done nothing!

"This is boring," Rayden sighed, dusting off his clothes. "Time to end this."

With a swift kick, he launched Turles into the sky.

Raising his right hand, Rayden gathered energy at his fingertips.

"Death Beam!"

Turles, now helpless and severely injured, could only watch in horror as the beam of light shot toward him.

"Aaaaah!!"

The beam pierced through Turles' chest, directly hitting his heart.

Bang!

Turles plummeted from the sky, crashing into the ground below.

He was dead.

Rayden gave him a quick glance, then flew up to the Spirit Tree.

"Let's see how many fruits it has produced!"

After searching around the enormous branches, Rayden managed to collect 142 spiritual fruits and one seed.

He took out two fruits to try, placing the rest into a universal capsule.

The taste was similar to ordinary fruit, but the energy inside was immense. Each fruit could increase combat power by hundreds of thousands and extend lifespan slightly.

(Note: The first time one eats a spiritual fruit, the boost is significant. But repeated consumption diminishes the effect. However, its ability to extend life remains.)

With Rayden's current combat power sitting around 300 million, the fruit's impact was minimal—but still valuable.

Satisfied, Rayden once again used Instant Transmission and vanished to the next planet.

---

Swish!

Rayden appeared atop a high mountain.

Looking down, he saw crowds of people gathering, many boarding spaceships with bags in hand.

It looked like a mass evacuation.

Rayden stopped an elderly man to ask about the situation.

From the old man, Rayden learned this planet was called Sergi.

Life had once been peaceful and prosperous here.

But recently, a group of evil invaders had been tearing through the nearby galaxies.

They would either destroy the planets they visited or slaughter the population and resell the planets on the black market.

Now, it seemed they were eyeing Sergi Star.

That's why the residents were fleeing.

Just then, Rayden sensed three powerful auras descending onto the planet.

All three had energy levels above 100,000, and their presence radiated pure evil.

"Those must be the invaders the old man mentioned."

Rayden soared into the sky, heading straight toward their location.

---

Elsewhere on Sergi Star...

A massive spacecraft had crash-landed in a forest, setting it ablaze. Thick black smoke billowed into the sky.

Three figures emerged from the smoke.

"Hehe~!"

Nez grinned. "Captain, this planet is perfect for life. If we conquer it, we can sell it for a fortune!"

Xaviza nodded but offered a warning.

"Nez, don't forget—this mission is urgent. King Cooler gave specific orders."

"Yes!" Dre chimed in with a grin. "But if we find a Spirit Tree, it'll be worth more than a thousand planets to King Cooler!"

These three were none other than Cooler's elite squad—the Mecha Troops.

Nez checked his scouter. "Captain, the inhabitants are fleeing."

"Hmph," Shaviza sneered. "Looks like they've heard of us. How dare they run!"

Dre growled. "Let me deal with them. I'll wipe them all out!"

"No, Dre!" Shaviza held up a hand. "Focus on finding the Spirit Tree."

"Yes, Captain!"

Dre landed reluctantly.

Nez scratched his head, confused. "Captain, is there really a Spirit Tree here?"

"I thought Spirit Trees drained all the life from a planet. But this place looks pretty lively."

The three looked around. Birds chirped, the forest was green—nothing seemed off.

"Maybe the rumors were wrong," Shaviza replied.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

Dre glanced at his detector—and paled.

"There's someone approaching... with an incredibly high power level!"

"Your scouter must be broken," Nez said dismissively. "This is a backwater planet. No way someone strong is here."

"He's already here," Shaviza said grimly.

A shadow appeared in the sky.

Whoosh!

In an instant, Rayden stood before them.

Nez stepped forward. "Hey, kid, are you from this planet?"

Rayden didn't answer directly. Instead, he asked, "You're Cooler's Mecha Unit, right? What are you looking for on this planet?"

Hahaha!

Dre laughed. "Looks like we're famous! Even nobodies on small planets know us!"

Shaviza barked, "This doesn't concern you. Get lost!"

"Yeah, scram!" Nez raised his fist threateningly. "Or I'll make you regret showing up!"

Rayden smiled and raised a hand, beckoning.

"Oh? You want me to see how strong your fist is?"

"Come on—let me feel it."
