"I am so sorry I'm late!" Aveline burst into the boardroom to find everyone seated already, waiting for her.
"Can I speak to you for a moment, please?" Harry said to Aveline.
"Sure." She dropped her bag, and stepped out with him.
"Is it because of what I told you? I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable," he said as soon as the door closed behind them.
"No, it's not that. It's my fault for coming late. It has nothing to do with you."
He breathed out.
"I take it you didn't tell Atlas then."
Her breath caught. "Let's not talk about Atlas please."
"Why? Is he still mean to you?" he took a step towards her, but her hand swiftly shot forward to stop him.
"No. He's your friend. And he wasn't mean. It was just a misunderstanding. That is my husband. I love him, and he loves me."
Harry blinked. Something had shifted. There was something different about her. A glow of some sort. Even a twinkle in her eyes.
He looked closer, but couldn't find the sadness he sometimes saw in her gaze.
