Iyango father stood firm. "You must not marry Amoni," he said with fire in his eyes. "She is not of our world. She is from the earth—mortal, cursed. You are destined for more."


But iyango heart refused to yield. "I love her," he said calmly but firmly. "I don't care where she's from. She is mine, and I will marry her."


Amoni stood silent, broken by the rejection and rejection of her very being. When she returned home, tears streamed down her face. She cried out to the heavens, "Why must love hurt this much?"
