One of the rooms walls were made of paper, the rest were made of wood. A man flew through the paper wall and a few seconds later a knife flew and hit him in the head. When Eiko saw the man she screamed. From the hole in the paper wall Shadow stepped out.
- Shadow? I asked in surprise. So he's also here in Magic City. Shadow looked at us and then up at the ceiling. He walked up to Hisoka, grabbed his head and lifted him up and crushed his head. Hisoka's body fell down to the ground lifeless. I felt the air getting colder and colder.
- YOU'RE MONSTER! Aimi screamed in full rage as her staff appeared. She pointed with her staff at Shadow.
- Ice Spikes, Aimi screamed and a bunch of ice spikes came up from under Shadow but he jumped away.
- Ice Spears, Aimi screamed and shot multiple ice spears towards Shadow but he avoided them also.
- Flamethrower, said Taiyo and shot a bunch of fire towards Shadow. He stretched out his arm and when Taiyo's fire reached Shadow it changed direction and started flying towards Aimi. I got in front of her and blocked the fire with Magic Breaker.
- Taiyo please don't use your fire magic in here. It would just end with you burning up this place with us in it, Aika said. She seemed completely calm, not angry at all. Taiyo looked at her and said "Oh yeah, sorry, didn't think." You could hear his anger in his voice.
- Aimi, you okay? I asked.
- Lightning Shock, said Nari and shot a big lightning bolt towards Shadow but he just deflected the lightning. Shadow looked towards Akihiro. Come on, is he going to kill him too? I thought. I got between Shadow and Akihiro and said "Not going to happen."
- Ice Trap, said Aimi and Shadows legs got trapped in ice. He looked down at his frozen legs and whispered something we couldn't hear. I ran forward and tried to punch him but he destroyed the ice and dodged my attack and grabbed my shirt and threw me away.
- Lightning Sword, said Nari and tried to cut Shadow but he avoided and took her in the hair and threw her towards Aimi. I ran towards Shadow again as he pointed up towards the ceiling and then a bright light came which blinded us all for a few seconds. When the light was gone, Shadow had disappeared. Where did he go? I wondered. We all looked around to see where Shadow had disappeared to.
- Eiko, Eiko where are you? screamed Akihito weakly. During the fight Eiko had disappeared.
- Where is She? asked Nari. We looked everywhere but we couldn't find her.
- Did Shadow take her? asked Aimi. After she said that Akihiro fell down at his feet.
- Akihiro, how do you feel? asked Nari.
- Extremely weak, he said with a weak voice. Aika ran up to him.
- Holy light, said Aika and a light came from her hands. After a few seconds the light disappeared. She looked disappointed and said "Holy light is usually a spell that can push back dark matter poisoning in the early stages but it didn't work." Nari looked surprised and asked "W…Wait, what do you mean?" Her voice broke as she asked that.
- He's not got much time left, Aika said. Nari fell down to her feet. I looked up and saw that there wasn't a hole in the ceiling. How did we get here? I wondered.
- Taiyo, can you pick him up? Aika asked.
- Yeah… Sure, Taiyo answered and picked Akihiro up.
30 minutes later.
- How big is this place? asked Aimi when we got to a big door.
- Hopefully this is the exit, said Taiyo. I opened the door and on the other side of the door there was a bunch of blood and bodies from both adults and kids. All kids and almost every adult had their heads either crushed or chopped off. The walls were made of concrete.
- What happened here? Nari asked, shocked. I almost puked from seeing all those dead bodies. Aika looked around. She didn't seem shocked, terrified or anything like that. How could she be so indifferent to this?
- Did Shadow do all this? I asked. There were easily over a hundred bodies here. I know that I have seen people getting killed before but I have never seen this many dead bodies in one place.
- If it's Shadow that has done this then we have to stop him, Nari said with anger. No matter who did this, we have to stop them.
- Are we outside? The sky… it's… Beautiful, Akihiro said weakly. Taiyo looked back at Akihiro and asked "Kid?" Nari's anger was replaced by worry and she ran up to Akihiro and asked worryingly "Akihiro?" Taiyo put Akihiro down on the ground.
- Oh, dad? What are you doing here? asked Akihiro. His voice was weak, really weak. You could barely hear him. He lifted up his right arm, reaching for something that we couldn't see.
- Akihiro? Akihiro? Nari screamed before Akihiro's arm fell down to the ground.
- Akihiro? No, don't leave us now, Nari said and started crying. I looked away. Aimi and Taiyo also looked away. Aika walked to Nari and said "Sorry but we have to go. Whoever killed all these people is probably still here. We don't want to be their next victim." How can she be so calm even after seeing Akihiro die? It was making me a bit angry. How can someone be so calm after seeing someone die?
- Aika, how can you be so calm after seeing someone die? Nari asked whilst crying. Aika looked towards the door on the other side of the room and asked "Have you forgotten where I was the last five years?" Before Nari was able to answer, a head flew in from the door on the other side of the room. We all looked towards the door and saw Shadow kicking Genki and then cut off Genki's head with his black sword. Nari stood up in anger and shouted "Shadow." A bunch of lightning bolts came from her. Shadow looked at Nari and then at Akihiro's body. He looked away. What? Are you sorry that he's dead? I thought angrily.
- Protection Angel of thunder let me borrow your strength and form it into a bird. Let the strength of your lightning be mine. THUNDERBIRD, Nari screamed in anger and shot a lightning bolt formed as a giant bird. Shadow looked at Nari while she was screaming and before the giant lightning bird reached him, he stretched out his hand and when the giant bird reached his hand it was destroyed. What was that? Nari looked at Shadow shocked and asked "How?" I ran towards Shadow and tried to punch him. He avoided my punch and sighed.
- I'm not here to fight you, said Shadow with a dark voice. I turned around and tried to punch him again whilst asking angrily "Then why did you kill Genki and Hisoka?" He avoided my punch again and asked "Can you kill something that isn't alive?" When he said that, he reminded me of what Accelerator said. I was filled with rage and tried to punch him again.
- Just because they are clones doesn't mean that they aren't alive! I screamed at Shadow. He avoided my punch again and whispered "Seems like I said it wrong."
- What I mean is that they were already dead, Shadow said. I froze when he said that.
- What do you mean by that? asked Nari. Shadow walked to Genki's chopped off head and picked it up. He threw it to Nari and said "Look." I looked towards the others and saw that Taiyo and Aimi were looking away and Aika was looking down on the floor. Nari looked down on Genki's head and said "Wait what?" I walked to Nari and looked at Genki's head. His head, it was still moving.
- How? Nari asked.
- Necromancy? I asked. Even after asking that I already knew that necromancy was impossible.
- Technically it's not necromancy but practically it's necromancy, said Shadow whilst walking up to us. He picked up Genki's head.
- What do you mean by that? I asked. He burned Genki's head in his hand and said "They are using lightning magic to resimulate their brains."
- Wait, so it's necromancy, I said.
- No, real necromancy is impossible, Taiyo answered.
- If that's not necromancy then what is necromancy? I asked.
- A spell is only seen as necromancy if it is able to resurrect both one's soul and one's body, Taiyo answered.
- What they are doing is only resurrecting their bodies. They were just mindless moving bodies, said Shadow.
- How? How do you know all this? asked Nari.
- I found some documents in one of the rooms, said Shadow.
- So who killed them? I asked.
- The orphanage, Shadow answered. Nari looked in shock at Shadow. "
- The orphanage? Nari asked. Her shock turned into rage and said "No way, no, there's just no chance that Akusuki would do something like this." She started crying and then asked "Right? There's no chance?"
- No, Akusuki didn't know anything about this but Arata knew, said Shadow.
- Why should we trust you? I asked, thinking that the orphanage would never do anything like this. Shadow turned around and said "Follow me."
He took us to a wall made of paper. There were a bunch of paper walls in this building.
- Why did you take us here? asked Nari. It was obvious that she was angry at Shadow and that she didn't believe him. Neither did I. He cut down the paper wall and behind it was a bunch of adults, kids and Nari's clones. All of them had injuries that should have been fatal.
- Oh Nari, it's been a while, said one of the kids. When Nari saw them she fell to her knees and started crying and whispered "So you weren't lying."
- Here's everyone of the victims that have gotten injuries that don't allow them to fight anymore. The only way to "kill" them is to destroy their brains, said Shadow.
- How did they die? asked Aimi.
- Dark matter poisoning, Shadow answered.
- So they were trying to add Akihiro to their army? asked Aika.
- They were trying to add all the kids to their army, Shadow explained.
- So who was poisoning them? asked Taiyo. There's only one person in Magic City that can use dark matter magic and that is Akuji Kage.
- We aren't a hundred percent sure but we believe that it was Akuji Kage, said Shadow.
- So he's a part of Daeevocate? I asked. Wouldn't shock me if he was. He is already a criminal and has killed a lot of people and broken several laws. The only reason why he isn't in prison is because no one except Accelerator can beat him. If the police tried to arrest him they all would probably die.
- Maybe, he and Accelerator hate each other to the core so it could also be that he is working as a mercenary for them, said Shadow. "It could also be that they have summoned a demon that can use dark matter magic." Demons? Have they already been able to summon some demons? That's not good.
- Nari, do you want to say goodbye to them one last time? asked Shadow. Nari looked a bit shocked and then she rose up, waved to them and said "Goodbye" whilst crying. Shadow pointed towards them and shot a fire towards them. Nari fell down again and started crying.
- The way out is that way, Shadow said and pointed to the right.
- Is it just a straight line? asked Taiyo.
- Both ways are a straight line. The other way leads to the main room, Shadow said and started walking away. When he walked past me he said "I wanted to save Akihiro." I looked back at him but when I did that he was gone. Where the hell did he disappear to?
After Nari had stopped crying, everything that was left in the room was ash.
- So should we head out now? asked Aika. Nari looked angry.
- Which way did he say that the main room was? asked Nari angrily. It was obvious that she wanted to fight and maybe even kill everyone that was involved with this place.
- That way, I said and pointed to the way out. We don't want to do anything stupid and then regret it. She ran the other way.
- Nari wait, I screamed and ran after her.
When we caught up to her she stood in front of Arata. He looked at Nari like he hadn't done anything wrong.
- Nari, what are you doing here? asked Arata.
- Lightning Sword, Nari screamed in rage and cut Arata over his chest and cut off his right arm. Arata screamed out in pain before Nari stabbed him in the right eye. Arata put his reimagining arm over his eye and asked "Why are you doing this?" Before Nari cut off his right leg. She put her blade beside his neck and asked "Is it true?" Arata looked at Nari with fear and asked "Is what true?"
- Is it true that you have been poisoning the children in the orphanage? Nari asked, her voice full of rage.
- What are you talking about? Arata asked with fear.
- Just answer my question! screamed Nari. Tears falling from her eyes. All fear from Arata's face disappeared before a man took Nari's shoulder and threw her away. The man had black messy hair that had some red bits all over it and dead golden eyes. Is that Ronin? I thought.
- Yeah, it's true, said Arata. What has happened to Ronin? I wondered. When Nari heard that, a bunch of lightning bolts flew around her. She started running towards Arata but Ronin tried to cut her with a normal sword but Nari blocked which destroyed Ronin's sword and stabbed him in the heart. She continued running towards Arata but Ronin ran after her. Nari turned around and cut off Ronin's head. When she turned around again Arara was gone.
- Where did he disappear to? I asked. The only door in this room was the one behind us. A bunch of wind came from outside.
- Where did that wind come from? asked Aika. Taiyo and Aimi looked at each other and ran to where the wind came from.
The wind came from the room that Akihiro died in. The room looked identical to how it looked before. We headed out and when we got out we were in the orphanage.
Later in the hospital.
Taiyo and Aimi told the doctor what happened.
- Sorry that I couldn't help, Kamijo apologised.
- Don't worry, you didn't do anything wrong, Nari said.
- Everything is fine with you physically, said Kamijo. Magic is really incredible. Kamijo looked at me and said "Now it's time to check you." Yeeeeah, in this situation unfortunately magic doesn't work on me.
- So do you know which of the kids survived? asked Nari sadly.
- Akihiro, Hisoka and Genki you saw die and Akina was found dead. Eiko, Namiko and Akasuki have not been found, said Kamijo. I looked at Nari and patted her back.
