Alexander was used to being the center of attention.
Eyes followed him whenever he walked past, whispers and drools never left out. At work, he was envied and even in the eyes of random strangers, he was obviously desired. It was a lifestyle he had gotten used to so when he walked through the gate of his company that morning, he wasn't surprised to feel eyes on him, whispers erupting from every corner.
But when the eyes were beginning to feel a bit burdensome, the whispers getting quiet as he approached them, he immediately knew something was different.
The male staffs weren't looking at him with the usual awe filling their eyes. The women weren't blushing at mere eye contact, tucking strands of hair behind their ears as they clearly fed on their delusions. Instead, they all stared at him with a look he immediately recognized as sympathetic.
And immediately, he was irked.
