"What are you even doing?"

Drew's voice cut through the quiet living room, breaking Lana's concentration.

She looked up from her phone, blinking like she'd forgotten where she was. Her thumb was still hovering over her screen, as if reluctant to let go of it.

The moment was soft and calm but charged with something unspoken. The kind of silence that felt like a question waiting to be asked. The kind that lingered just a second too long.

"I'm not doing anything," she said, setting the phone on the cushion beside her, but even she didn't sound convinced. "I'm just- it's nothing."

 "Oh, I see," he replied her. His tone wasn't irritatedâ€"just curious, maybe a little tired. He was leaning against the kitchen doorway with his arms folded, watching her like he had been doing it for a while. "You're just-
