Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: Looming danger

The orcs went and gathered in a large hut, unlike the others made of wood and thatch, this one was crafted using wooden logs, hides draped over it in decoration, highlighting the status of the owner. More and more orcs walked in in, each carrying with them a weapon symbolizing their roles as warriors in this clan.

The inside of the hut was surprisingly clean, female golblins ran around polishing and cleaning everything. They were from a small goblin outpost the orcs had conquered turning them into their slaves. One of the female goblins led the group into a large opening in the hut.

The floor was lined with fur aiming to give some comfort to the warriors. On the floor a large group of warriors sat cross-legged, conversing with each other on what they thought would have brought them there.

Suddenly, the room fell silent, from a corner of the room, a towering orc marched through, much larger than the rest. He had four tusks instead of two protruding from his mouth. A large crown of bones rests on his head a glowing green gem in the middle. This was the Ghorruk their chief.

Behind him, two other figures walked behind him. One was elderly his green skin sloughing and drooping, he was as thin as a twig as each step he took caused him to shake, he carried a large stick bedazzled with ornaments of different kinds, bird feathers and a tiny creature skull.

The other figure was the exact opposite; he was a massive figure nearly the size of the chief. He walked forward with purpose and determination a fierce light in his eyes. On his skin black engravings were carved a symbol of power.

Every orc stared at him in envy. He was Bollok the eldest son of the Chief, as well as the best fighter in the village only second to his father, he had also managed to gain the recogniton of their war god, evident in the black marking on his body. This granted him monstrous strength and everyone knew it was a matter of time before he became the next chief.

Ghorruk walked slowly towards the middle of the room a cape of hide slowly following behind him. In the middle of the room a large throne made entirely of bones had been erected. He sat down his two accomplices standing right beside him.

He faced the congregated group of 25 orc warriors, a frown covering his face. The orcs stood up placing their fists on their chest.

"We greet the Cheiftain!" They said in unison.

Ghorruk waved them of. He leaned back in his chair. Bidding the old orc next to him to speak on his behalf.

The old orc walked foward, his staff jingling as he stepped fowards. The group of orcs swalloed hard this was the head shaman of their village, they had heard stories of how he liked to use orcs for his vile experimentations.

"Our scouts have detected an intruder on our territories." He said in a raspy voice.

"Is it another tribe?" One of the orc shouted.

The shaman shook his head, he turned to the entrance where he had just come from, bidding someone to come forth. Slowly a puny figure emerged, it clutched its hands in fear of being infront such presences. It was cross between an orc and goblin, having the height of an orc, but the scrawny build of a goblin.

"Tell them of what you saw."

The puny creature swallowed hard, before turning to the band of orcs infront of it.

"Deep in the blackfang ridge i spotted theenemy 5 moons prior, only this one wasn't once out regular enemy no this one had a body of steel, two metallic creatures followed behind it. They spoke in language foreign to our own. I saw them engage with a rockback, only for them to slay it easily. They used spells i have never seen before, and they seem to increasing their forces. They move without life, they dig and build all day" It said in a raspy voive.

The band of warrior orcs fell into silence. Whatever this thing was it was encroaching on their territory and they couldn't let that happen.

"The spirit whispers that this creature is a great danger unto our village, so we will need to hunt it down, till we destroy every trace of it.

Ghorruk cleared his throat causing everyone to go quiet.

"Prepare, your weapons as 4 moons from now we ride to vanquish this enemy." He said rising and walking back out from the exit.

The orcs cheered in jubilation it had been a while since they had last wnet out into battle; this would be refreshing they thought. But they were so wrong, so, so wrong.
