Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Progress.

Horizon stood in the middle of large cleared out field. The assembly drone had remove every inch of plant life from a 100 meter radius, flattening the ground as well. On the side, dozens of miner drones worked tirelessly mining out the raw minerals available in the area. Beside him a pile of blue crystal lay stranded. He picked one up activating his mana vision. The crystal emitted a bright blue color, indicating its high mana content. He had learnt from the adventurers that this was a mana stone, a naturally occurring mineral that could house large amounts of mana. It seemed this area was a natural mana vein. Excellent he thought.

Horizons core hummed in understanding, from his hands tiny silver filaments spread out, landing on the pile of crystal behind him. He began absorving the latent mana turning the crystal to dust. He needed large amounts of energy for what he was going to do next.

Horizon core hummed with power, it was time. From his back silver tendrils once again unfurled, lifting him into the air. His eyes glowed red, as a hologram spread out from him filling the circular pit. It was a detailed blueprint of his soon-to-be base. Outsiders from the outside would only see a large grey disk, but the inside is what would be important. Here he would have everything he needed to start.

"Initiate construction sequence," Horizon said.

The smelters he had built began to pour red-hot liquid into the pit. He had the metal mixed with the newfound mana crystal, infusing the mana present in it with the melted metal, which would increase the strength of the metal as well as the mana conductivity of said metal. It would also allow him to control the metal through spell code. He termed this new metal Manasteel; the material he would be building the rest of his forces with.

He raised his hands into the air, as red veins of energy began spreading from his chest to his arms and the rest of his body, a red pulse of energy radiated from him spreading outwards in a bubble, the energy reacted with the molten liquid, giving it a red edge. Horizon's eyes glinted with red, sparking energy. The molten liquid responded as it began spreading out over the 100-meter radius pit at an increasing speed.

Horizon clenched his fist as the molten metal began rapidly cooling down into a black metal solid plate. In the middle, a raised circular disk, from this disk, multiple lines spread out in a circuit-like pattern throughout the entire disk. Horizon marveled at his creation. He lowered himself, landing with a clank on the raised platform. He let a pulse of energy from the core, watching it travel through his feet to the circuit below, the energy spread through the circuit like patterns on the disk.

Horizon hummed in approval. The framework was complete. Now for the next step. He stepped of the platform raising his hands once again. the last of the molten liquid flowed from the smelters, flowing in the air towards him. The liquid arranged itself into four pillar structures that were positioned on the four corners of the platform. On their surfaces circuit like patterns were also present, complementing the floor beneath.

It was time now for him to build his mana reactor, a personal invention of hos own, where he had adjusted a fission core reactor to deal with mana. This would be the power supply for the entire base.

He raised his hand as liquid flowed from another smelter towards the platform, he began meticulously controlling its flow building it from the base up, the molten liquid flowed as if made of water. Hardening and shifting into place, two silver tentacles were summoned by him, and began helping him in the construction of the reactor frame, the metal squirmed as it was squeezed and locked into shape, with machine perfection.

After a while, Horizon stepped back observing his finished creation. It had the appearance of bloomed flower, only it was silver in color and made of metal. This wasn't by preference but by function he had judged this shaped to be the most optimal for absorbing mana.

On top of the flower, a geodesic sphere lay. A collection triangle structures combined to form a giant black sphere, this was to ensue that no mana would leak out as it would be catastrophic to the entire structure for even a tiny bit of it to leak.

Now time for the most delicate part. Horizon chest heaved opened as he removed a baseball sized sphere. It glowed a bright shade of red. it caused the surrounding space around it to warp and bend showcasing it power. This was his own power source as well as where his consciousness was housed. It was made from a special metal, mined from neutron stars deuterium-tritium. It was capable of housing enormous amounts of energy, it was also his biggest weakness. For if it were destroyed, he would cease to exist. So he had built a protective covering a silver casing where it would be protected incase of emergencies. And when he had gotten attacked by the imperium of man he had housed his core into the silver figure escaping.

The silver figure walked forward, placing the core into the geodesic sphere. A pulse of energy rippled out. The deuterium core floated towards the middle of the reactor red energy waves pulsing out of it. The geodesic sphere began floating and rotating at raid speeds as red lightning sparked on its inside. The entire circuit began glowing as it was brought to life. But quickly dimmed

Horizon hummed in satisfaction. He stared at his core from in the sphere, now that his greatest weakness was safe he could now move around freely without worry of death. But the reactor wasn't complete, A reactor needed fuel to function.

He signaled a mining drone, which delivered large amounts of Mana crystal. This crystal were fed into the reactors injection ports as the reactor sucked the mana out of the crystal in seconds. But it was okay, for it would draw mana from the environment.

The flower below began glowing, as it fed power to the four pilllars, red orbs of energy glowing on top of them. The pillars then began supplying power to the circuit below as once again they glowed a bright red.

Now to finish the rest, Horizon thought.
