It's like the middle of the night. Everyone's gone home, the customers and the staff. It's just Sebby and me this time. We're both still drinking, but Sebby is also looking at his logbook. I smile at him because this is what he's always wanted to do. Run this place, seeing him do this is so surreal because I remember how, back when we were kids, he wouldn't shut up about running this place.
"God, when did we grow up?" I ask him, and he looks at me with a smile on his face.
"We're adults, when did that happen?" he says, hands on the table as he stares at me.
"Nostalgia is truly a mind's trick because I actually miss being a kid even though I had a bad experience being one."
