Chapter 7 - Seven

Miles

There's something inside of me that's threatening to combust. I feel this rage inside me, and the reason is because of the way they are treating her, the way they're holding her sends me into a fit of anger that I won't be able to control when I handle them.

"Oh, look, another Nytheri. Just great, but the only difference is that this one looks like other Nytheris, he doesn't look like this one." The ugly vampire says looking at her from head to toe like the fucking creep that he is. She whimpers, and that sound makes me angrier.

"But you said that she's your mate." He says.

"Awww," says another Nocturne, and they're all laughing. What the hell is so funny? Do they know that I can rip their throats off at any second now? Of course they don't because Nocturnes are so fucking stupid.

"I said leave her alone!" I make sure my voice is heard now.

"Oh, chill out Nytheri." the Nocturne holding Jessica says with a smile like anything is so fucking funny.

I receive a harsh kick on my back, and I fall to the ground. I groan and I stand up immediately, looking for the nocturnes who pushed me in that manner. The nocturnes are fast, but Nytheris are faster.

One of the nocturnes attempts to attack me by coming straight from the air, and I immediately kick him like a useless ball, and he falls. And another one tries to attack but I grab them by the neck and I throw them they go flying toward the vampire holding Jessica. Jessica immediately dodges and the nocturne hits the one who held her.

She runs toward me, and when she's next to me, she holds me, and I feel a sense of importance. I love that she feels safe with me; it doesn't make me seem like some kind of hero. I know she can protect herself; in due time, she will know how to protect herself well.

"I want to fucking kill these freaks." she spits out of anger. I've got to say, her fierceness has me turned on. She looks so hot when she feels like killing a bunch of nocturnes.

"We will, but you have to know. These nocturnes are very tricky."

"Oh I know." her claws spring out and I try to bite the smile that's threatening to reveal itself but it's no use the smile appears anyway because I love what I see.

"Ugh, you pesky cat freaks!" the nocturnes hiss, snarling their teeth. They run toward us. I look at Jessica and she looks at me, her eyes emerald green, she knows they are and she's smiling at me so am I.

We are stronger together because our names are written in the stars, our passion made of fire that can set the whole world ablaze. We're going to be setting these demons on fire.

They run toward us, thinking they're going to win because they outnumber us. Little do they know they're going to lose.

I hear Jessica scream, but it's not the scream of distress; it's the scream of a warrior. I fight these blood-thirsty freaks, ending them one by one, ripping their heads off, scratching them until my venom destroys them.

I don't need to see Jessica to know she's killing it, killing them. I'm beyond proud of her, beyond proud. It's like I've known her before this.

I have, and, weirdly, I have known her, but she hasn't known me at all. Well, I have been stalking her, and stalking is a crime. If she finds out I've been stalking her for months she's going to run for her life. But I have to tell her to establish trust between us.

She has to understand that I had to understand why I was so drawn to her. I will tell her after we kill these demons and hopefully she doesn't run away again.

I finish ripping the heads off of one of the nocturnes. And my eyes look for Jessica, I find her and she's towering over the nocturne who manhandled her. She has killed other nocturnes and she's about to kill the one who held her like she was his fucking property.

The nocturne is on the floor, shaking on his boots. He looks like he's going to explode.

"Please, I'm sorry." he cries in fear but I don't think Jessica is going to be hearing that. I just stand there and I fold my arms.

He looks so fucking lost, I love it. Now I know I did the right thing by bringing her back to life as a Nytheri.

"You shouldn't have grabbed me like that you fucking freak." and she raises her hands and she throws it against his neck slicing it making him go into a state of death. All the nocturnes are dead.

God, she's so badass.

I walk over to her.

"You did amazing." she looks straight at me, her eyes are back to normal a honey brown which is just as beautiful as the emerald green that glows at night.

She looks around us. She gasps at the nocturnes.

"Oh my God, we have to clean this up." she says. "We have to do it quickly before the cops catch us." she panics and I can't help it, I giggle.

"You think this is funny? We just committed murder…oh my God, I just committed murder."

"Hey, hey, hey, relax. These are evil people; we're supposed to kill them. And don't worry about the bodies. The witches are going to handle this."

She stares at me with utmost shock. Her eyes have grown wide.

"There are witches?"

I nod my head. "Yes, there are."

She looks down as if trying to process all this, and then she falls, but then I catch her, her body in my arms.

She's fainted.

Fuck.

This is not the first time I'm watching her sleep but the difference between the other times and this time is that I would watch her sleep from outside of her window but now she's on my bed, in my room, in my penthouse.

She looks so beautiful when she sleeps; every pretty girl needs her beauty rest.

I haven't slept. I have watched her sleeping since I placed her on this bed, and she has slept soundly since then.

This morning I decided to make her favourite, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. Before I knew that that's what she loves I was taking nothing but coffee in the morning, but since I found out Jessica eats for breakfast I've tried it and it's safe to say there's no going back.

So here I am sitting on the chair in a navy blue suit and a tray on my la,p waiting for her to awaken, and she's about to wake up in three, two, one. And she moves on the bed.

Her eyes fly open, and she blinks.

God, she's so gorgeous.

And she looks so confused right now. I don't blame her she's in a room she doesn't recognise.

"Good morning." she flips her head to my side and when she sees me she sits up and she screams.

I flinch when she does that, even though I saw it coming.

This is going to be hard.
