Lira and everyone stepped out of the Grove and into the foggy forest leading toward the Academy. Snow still lingered on the branches, glinting in the weak winter sunlight, and Fluffy padded along their feet, occasionally leaping to catch a drifting flake.
As they approached the Academy, the air buzzed with excitement. Students hurried past with bundles of lights, lanterns, and brightly wrapped parcels. Teachers coordinated displays, and the scent of baked goods and spiced drinks drifted from the kitchens. Everywhere, laughter and cheerful chatter filled the hallways, a stark contrast to the quiet, focused Grove they had left behind.
"Look at this," Lira whispered, her eyes wide. "Everyone's preparing for the Winter Market."
Serelyth's golden eyes reflected the colors of the decorations, her humanoid form elegant yet approachable. "It feels… alive, almost magical. I didn't know winter could be so bright."
