Chapter 21 - — Calamity

Arthur had lost control of his body. Currently his body was slumped over in front of the Pendragon house. A horse's neighs could be heard in the distance. Before a horse arrived in front of Arthur's unconscious body. A brilliantly handsome man with black hair and blue eyes jumped down and examined him.

"Younger brother? What in the world are you doing here…"

Arthur's brother, Mordred, sighed as he looked at his unconscious state. Before he picked him up. Arthur's body suddenly jerked and threw itself up. Emanating an odd blue energy from his back. Mordred drew his sword.

"Brother, what happened to you?"

Arthur didn't respond and looked towards Mordred, his eyes were completely black, with a soft blue iris lingering in the middle, staring directly at Mordred. Arthur remained unresponsive and he suddenly infused his arm with white lightning. He dashed forward at Mordred and slammed him into the ground with a monstrous strength. The partial calamity let out a roar into Mordred's face and tossed him into the air. Mordred quickly drew his sword and infused it with a blue aura. He struck Arthur, but did no damage. As the partial calamity had cloaked his body in white lightning, creating a type of armor.

Arthur used the white lightning to propel himself into the air slammed him down by the face once again. The partial calamity was different, it had a true understanding of draconic runes, and therefore, could use them at maximum potential. Arthur's lightning gauntlets met the blade of Mordred's sword as he swiftly deflected the strike and aimed for the back of Arthur's head with the blunt of his blade. The partial calamity simply reached out and stopped the blade with one finger. Inscribing a series of runes that simply made the blade collapse and fall apart right before him.

'Shit! What the hell happened to Arthur when he left?'

The partial calamity gave him no time to think. Swiftly striking him multiple times in the chest, the armor increased his speed dramatically. And also deeply shocked him with each attack. Mordred grunted, while defenseless he was totally unable to defend against Arthur's swift series of attacks. And soon enough he was on the ground while the partial calamity was continuously beating his fist into Mordred's face. Blood coating his white gauntlets.

"Stop it now! Arthur!"

A sword infused with a masters aura emanated in front of the partial calamity. The head of house Pendragon, Uther, stood before him.

"Im not sure what exactly happened to you. But this is unacceptable!"

Arthur quickly lunged forward at his father. His gauntlet clanging against the deeply reinforced blade. Mordred, in his deeply injured state, was able to witness the difference between an expert swordsman, and a master. Uther was able to keep up with Arthur's strikes in perfect succession. And even started to overwhelm the partial calamity. But that was before Arthur started to inscribe runes.

The blue flames of calamity coated his body completely, bright blue horns of flame sticking out of his head, a true demon. He rushed forward. Uther and the partial calamity traded blows one by one, each blow changed the outcome of the battle, and it was truly uncertain. Arthur blitzed backwards and inscribed a deep series of runes. Pillar of calamity.

A blue orb of calamity flame appeared above Uther, giving him no time to react as it detonated, a giant pillar of blue flame enveloped everything around them. The pendragon house had been utterly annihilated. Along with any people who had been caught off guard by the blast. The calamity stood in his own flames and looked towards Uther, whom was on the ground. And standing in front of him was a beautiful man with long black hair holding a teenage girl.

"Stop this at once you insolent child!" Morgus Zephyr held his daughter in his arms as his ward prevented the spread of the calamity flame. Uther rose to his feet and looked towards the beautiful man.

"Thank you. Old friend. Although I have been overpowered for a few moments, I found his point of weakness. The calamitous energy is flowing from his back. Where I assume he has been branded by something of the same nature. I will distract him. And you must perform some kind of sealing magic."

Morgus nodded and they both burst forward at Arthur, although Uther had been overpowered, he hadn't even unleashed anything close to his true strength, in fear of killing Arthur. And brought out a fraction of it to quickly overpower the calamity. Arthur had no time to inscribe draconic runes as Uther was simply too fast and too strong for him to keep up. Uther pressed him back onto the hands of Morgus Zephyr, who performed a deep sealing magic on the calamities brand on his back. As the spell was completed. The blue flames vanished and Arthur fell to the ground. His consciousness suddenly returned.

"What…what happened?"

Uther and Morgus looked towards Arthur, while Revan attempted to treat the wounds of Mordred.

"Child. You have brought great shame to this house. You abandoned your oath! You have accepted the fires of demons into your body! And you have destroyed our home! Return your relic! You are no longer a member of this house."

Arthur's memories rushed forward in his mind. He had a giant headache, and his body felt weak. He could feel watery tears swelling up in his eyes as he looked towards Revan, who simply looked away. Refusing to meet his eyes.

'Damnit…why? Why does it always have to be me? Who gets treated like this…why did that damn thing have to control me!'

He barely lifted himself off his feet and took out the moonlight blade from his inventory. Tossing it towards his father, while tears slowly flooded his eyes.

"Very well. Father. I will…relieve your burden that is my existence."

Arthur sniffled before coating his feet in the last stretch of white lightning. Both Morgus and Uther stretched their arms out.

"Child! Wait!"

But before they could reach he was already out of reach and sight. A trail of tears and white sparks making their way towards the east. Far beyond.
