Yanchen's eyes narrowed. He knew that tone too well.

His brother was fishing. And while he trusted Mingchen more than anyone else in the world, some things especially matters of the heart weren't meant to be handed over so easily.

He didn't want his brother poking around, even with good intentions.

Especially not when Mianmian had just faced her first battle and was still healing.

So instead of answering directly, he leaned back against the wall and let out a slow breath.

"That doesn't matter."

Mingchen raised a brow on the other end of the line, half amused. "You don't want me to know where she is?"

"I didn't call you for that."

"Oh..then what did you call me for?"

"I want a list."

Mingchen blinked. "A list?"

Yanchen's voice cooled a little. "Of every person in the South District Food Bureau who's issued unjustified red closure notices over the last ninety days."

There was a pause. Then Mingchen's tone shifted from teasing to serious.
