Mianmian didn't say anything and turned back to the crowd.
"Good morning everyone! Due to some foreseen events. The shop will be open at noon, extra bowl of noodles per 2 orders, so make sure to bring your families here for lunch!"
Her voice rang out clear, unfaltering, like nothing had ever gone wrong to begin with.
The crowd stilled for a second, then chuckles broke out, some surprised laughter, a few delighted claps.
"Ah, she's still got fight in her!"
"An extra bowl? You hear that, Old Wei? We're eating good today!"
"Bless her. I was craving those noodles since last night."
"Her mother would be proud. I don't even know her but I'm proud. Not many can get the red ticket removed from their shops.."
Even the gruffest of them couldn't help but crack a smile at the way she rallied herself, not just standing tall but throwing the doors wide with generosity.
Mianmian offered a deep, practiced bow with her hands folded before her.
