Chapter 26: Pregnant, One Shot is All it Took!
"Enh..."
In the early morning, a stray beam of sunlight filtered into the room, accompanied by a soft, lingering sound that could easily stir one's imagination.
Akira's biological clock nudged him awake. As his eyes fluttered open, the first thing he saw was a sea of emerald green.
It was Kingu—the stunning woman he had personally created, every inch of her body crafted to match his own aesthetic ideals. When he had reconstructed Kingu's physical form, he had done so by following his deepest preferences.
She possessed a bountiful chest, a slender waist, and long, elegant legs, embodying the perfect aura of a mature older sister—the onee-san type.
And right now, Kingu was resting within Akira's embrace.
As for how this came to be, it left Akira feeling a mix of tickled amusement and slight confusion. The person who had instigated Kingu to come to his room last night was none other than Tiamat herself.
Lilith's arrival had awakened a deep, maternal longing within Tiamat to see her children flourish. Seeing as Akeno's belly had shown no signs of change after all this time, Tiamat had taken it upon herself to nudge Kingu forward.
Kingu hadn't been opposed to the idea at all; in fact, she felt a quiet spark of joy at the prospect. She had readily agreed, and thus, things had unfolded into the scene before him.
"Onii-chan..."
Disturbed by Akira's slight movement, Kingu began to wake.
Looking up at Akira and recalling the "madness" of the previous night, Kingu felt a wave of bashfulness wash over her.
"Still calling me 'Onii-chan'?"
"Darling~~~"
Kingu ducked her head, calling out with the same affectionate term Quetzalcoatl used all day long. Since Kingu knew very little about these matters and wasn't quite sure how a wife should address her husband, she simply mimicked Quetzalcoatl's way of speaking.
"Alright, time to get up. We have a lot to do today."
"Yes, my dear..."
"We are the closest people in the world now, Kingu. You must remember that every part of your body was shaped by my hands. Therefore, everything about you is my absolute favorite."
"I understand, my dear..."
When had she ever heard such words of love? She felt like a bride in the middle of a honeymoon; she truly was the happiest woman alive in that moment.
After lingering for a little while longer, the two of them 'struggled' to get dressed and finally stepped out of the bedroom.
"Dammit, I was clearly the one who got here first."
In the next room, the door creaked open slowly. Seeing the two of them together, Rias bit her lip with a look of pure frustration. Just as she said—she was technically the first to arrive, yet now she felt like the outsider looking in.
"Rias, hesitation leads to defeat. I'm so grateful that I was decisive enough to come here on my own back then. Look at me now, I'm being thoroughly pampered."
Inside the room, Akeno stepped out. They were sisters-in-arms and best friends, yet polar opposites in this regard.
"Stop talking nonsense, you thieving cat. You clearly went off for 'special training,' but you just used it to steal a march on me."
"This concerns the happiness of a lifetime; how can you call it 'stealing'? Besides, if I 'stole' the opportunity, it's only because you were a step too slow. The reality is, even now, you're still hesitating."
Looking at her best friend, Akeno let out a long sigh.
Rias found it too difficult to let go of her pride. She loved Akira, but she was held back by her own reserve and her family upbringing, which dictated that the man should be the one to initiate things.
'I won't reject you, so why don't you come find me?'
With that mindset, Rias had hoped and waited time and time again, only to be met with repeated disappointment. Akeno had tried to give Rias subtle hints countless times, but Rias clearly wasn't listening.
Now, the number of women around Akira was growing. It was manageable for now, but in a few years, when he truly had no shortage of companions, Rias's position might vanish entirely. One shouldn't take a 'betrothal' too seriously; it was little more than a verbal promise.
Meanwhile, Akira and Kingu made their way to the living room. Tiamat was already awake, keeping Ophis and Lilith company as they watched television.
"Mother, next time there's an 'arrangement' like this, could you at least let me know?"
The moment they reached the living room, Akira couldn't help but complain to Tiamat. Since when did his mother start micro-managing his love life?
"Alright, I'll tell you next time."
"~~~"
Hearing Tiamat's response, Akira rolled his eyes. You actually plan on doing this again.
However, as Tiamat's gaze landed on Kingu standing beside him, her eyes suddenly lit up.
"Good child, very good..."
Speaking with sudden excitement, she stood up, rushed over, and grasped Kingu's small hands. This took Kingu by surprise; she had no idea why Tiamat was suddenly so energized.
"A new child..."
As she spoke, she gently placed her hand on Kingu's stomach.
Tiamat's words left Akira stunned. What did he just hear? A new child? He was having a baby? It actually happened in one night?
"Hey, Mother, you aren't mistaken, are you? It's only been one night. How can you be so sure she's already pregnant?"
Akira asked, blinking. Kingu, on the other hand, felt a bit dazed. She wasn't mentally prepared to become a mother just yet.
"As the mother of all life, how could I possibly be wrong about this? Even though it has only just joined us, the child has been conceived."
"I... this..."
At this moment, Akira didn't know what to say. He was going to be a father?
After the initial wave of panic, a heavy sense of responsibility settled in his chest. He was going to be a father.
Some people ask what it means to be a man, what it means to reach maturity.
That one question has a hundred different answers from a hundred different people. Some say it's when you grow tall. Some say it's when you've experienced much of the world. Others say it's when you've survived failure and suffering.
But now, Akira seemed to understand. When one day you suddenly feel the weight of 'responsibility' drop onto your shoulders—the kind that makes you think of your family above all else—that is when you truly become an adult.
"No, wait, Mother, are you sure? Absolutely sure?"
"Of course I am sure. Kingu's body was created from the Chaos Tide, and the Chaos Tide is the very nursery of life. Therefore, it is only natural for her to conceive."
Hearing the confirmation once more, Akira turned his gaze toward Kingu. He was really going to be a dad.
"Kingu, from now on, don't go wandering off anywhere. Stay at home to take care of the baby in your womb and keep Mother company."
"But, there are still so many things to do..."
"I'll handle them. Just leave everything to me."
"Alright then..."
Seeing Akira's serious expression, Kingu nodded. While she had no prior preparation for pregnancy, she felt a profound surge of happiness knowing that this was Akira's child.
