Chapter 449 - Killing Rizevim!

Chapter 27: Killing Rizevim!

Time passed steadily. A month had slipped by since Kingu was confirmed to be carrying Akira's child.

During that month, Kingu became the center of the world. Everyone showered her with detailed attention and care. Given that this was Akira's first child, the level of concern was immense. Following the principle that a mother's status rises with her child, Kingu's position in the household had reached its absolute peak.

On the other hand, Akira had spent over a month investigating Rizevim's whereabouts. He had deployed a massive number of his Shadow Legion to scour various locations. He had even reached out to Vali to assist in the search.

Finally, the intel came through today. Rizevim's location had been pinpointed to a hidden spot within the Japanese territory.

Upon receiving the report, Akira headed straight to the scene. Arriving at the location, his senses detected no traces of other people—only a single, incredibly powerful aura.

As he ventured deeper, he found no traps or ambushes. Eventually, he reached the innermost sanctum. There, a man sat perched upon a throne of pitch-black darkness.

Upon seeing Akira, Rizevim flashed a deeply unsettling smile.

"Wonderful! Honestly, I've grown quite bored of everything in this world. I didn't expect someone as new and interesting as you to show up. It seems this world still has a few tricks up its sleeve," Rizevim said, laughing loudly with an expression bordering on pure insanity.

"We finally meet, Rizevim. We've known of each other's existence through reports for a long time," Akira said.

"Hahaha, you've destroyed every single one of my plans. From the annihilation of the Khaos Brigade, to taking Ophis away, even down to the death of Cao Cao. You truly are a remarkable individual."

The man had a twisted, extreme sense of humor. Akira knew a lot about him thanks to Grayfia. This was a man with a broken psyche and shattered logic.

Back in the Underworld, this man held absolute power. Even during the Great War, he possessed the strength to end it all, ensuring the Old Maou faction wouldn't become history.

Yet, he chose to simply watch, as if viewing a stage play. He even disbanded the Lucifer faction's army and handed his personnel over to others, until he was the only one left without a single follower.

Despite that, because Grayfia was with him at the time, the Lucifer faction remained the strongest among the Old Maou remnants. Everything relied on Grayfia's support. That was why Sirzechs had exerted so much effort to bring Grayfia over to his side.

If Grayfia hadn't defected, the war wouldn't have ended so simply. The survivors of the Old Maou faction today only exist because Sirzechs chose to absorb those devils.

After the defeat, Sirzechs and Grayfia had planned to eliminate this greatest threat. But when they arrived at Rizevim's castle, the place was already empty.

"Rizevim, the strongest Super Devil. I want to see just how much power you truly have."

"Hmm? You want to kill me? A pity, Red Dragon Emperor. You are a Sacred Gear user, and because of that, you can never defeat me."

"Because of your Sacred Gear Canceller, right?"

"Oh? You actually know about my ability. It seems you didn't come looking for me without doing your homework."

"It seems you've misunderstood something. I haven't been a Sacred Gear user for a long time. I threw the Boosted Gear away ages ago."

"You threw it away? Ages ago?"

Rizevim looked confused. Only a few months had passed since Akira had awakened the Sacred Gear. He questioned the logic of the phrase "ages ago." However, Akira didn't care about his opponent's confusion and had no intention of explaining himself.

"Alright, I won't waste any more time. I'll end this fight in an instant."

"'End the fight in an instant'? If you can actually do it, I'd be more than happy to oblige."

Rizevim was a madman. From beginning to end, he held no fear of death. He was disappointed in the world because of his boredom, so whatever happened didn't matter to him.

Akira didn't bother continuing the conversation. Darkness began to surge from his body.

Swoosh——

Akira tapped into Meliodas's Original Magic and entered his Original Demon state. Unlike the Meliodas from the original story, after various processes of purification and "coloring," Akira didn't use a pure white mode. Instead, Akira's Original Demon form was a void of the purest darkness.

Swooosh—— Swooosh—— Swooosh——

From every direction, the darkness began to coalesce. It transformed into spheres of pure black, no larger than marbles, resembling miniature versions of Truth-Seeking Balls. They were so numerous they filled the entire area.

"Is this darkness? What a unique energy!"

Rizevim had seen dark-attribute energy before, but this was the first time he had seen a technique utilized this way. These black spheres were highly concentrated singularities of darkness.

The energy contained within each sphere, if detonated, was equivalent to a full-scale attack from a transcendent-level being. One or two might not bruise Rizevim, but the sheer quantity present here was massive.

"Rizevim, there is no place in my world for a madman like you. So, become the dust of history."

"Your world? You want to rule the world too? How interesting. But if you can kill me, then making me your stepping stone isn't a bad way to go."

"Magic Power Release: Billion Dark!"

Boom——

The black spheres surrounding them instantly accelerated, pelting Rizevim like fire from a machine gun.

"Time and Space Imprisonment—"

He didn't stop there. Akira invoked his authority as the World Master and the power of the world itself to lock down the surrounding space and time. Unless Akira was killed, even a Dragon God would be forced to stay within this boundary.

"Splendid (Subarashii). This is the first time I've experienced an attack this powerful. You definitely have other techniques, don't you? Keep going."

Rizevim's face was covered in blood, and wounds riddled his body, yet his expression remained feverishly insane.

"In that case, as a sign of respect to you as a powerful individual, I'll let you experience it properly..."

Akira unleashed his mana completely. The weapon Lostvayne materialized in his hand.

"Enchantment: Hellblaze – Divine Thousand Slashes!"

"Sun Breathing, Dark Shining Form: Dark Night Veil!"

"Shadow Touch!"

"Wisdom of the People: Absolute Bombardment..."

In this modern world of gods and demons, by absorbing the concept of modern weaponry, Akira summoned a volley of missiles to carry out a precision airstrike directly on target.

Under the relentless assault that lasted for twenty minutes, Akira could feel Rizevim's aura growing increasingly faint.

"Let's end it with this. As it began with Enkidu (Chains of Heaven), so it shall end with Enkidu."

"O Humans, Let Us Restrain The Gods (Enuma Elish)!"

Amidst a blinding golden radiance, Akira transformed into a bolt of light and plummeted rapidly from the heavens.

Boom——

A deafening roar erupted. Had the space not been sealed, a sound of this magnitude would have undoubtedly drawn worldwide attention.

"Light..."

In the final seconds of his life, only 'light' remained in Rizevim's eyes. In a semi-conscious state, Rizevim saw his life flash before him. He had possessed everything since the start, which had caused him to lose interest in everything. Everything he did was based on fleeting personal whims, yet years later, he had ended up here.

Everything in this moment surprised Rizevim. After he 'looked' back carefully, he realized it wasn't his life that was boring—it was he himself who was boring.

"Such a blindingly bright light. If there's a next time, I'll definitely kill you. Killing you would be so much fun."

Finally, Rizevim left those words behind as his life came to an end. Amidst the overflowing torrent of energy, Rizevim's body was riddled with holes until he was finally torn apart by the clashing light and darkness, crumbling into nothingness and vanishing entirely from this world.
