Chapter 11 - The Death of a Warden...

"Warden Sith could be plotting something…" But no matter what it was, Nylon was confident that he could overcome it. The current him was undoubtedly stronger than Warden Sith. His combat experience and senses were also superior.

Speaking of the devil:

"Nylon, are you in here?" Warden Sith addressed him by name, acting like they were close. "I have something to discuss with you."

'This late at night?' Nylon's eyes narrowed as he approached the door cautiously. 'Something is off.'

*Creak!*

The door opened. And there he was—Warden Sith—smiling as unnervingly as always.

"What is it?" Nylon asked wearily.

"Haha, there's no need to be like that, young friend Nylon," Warden Sith laughed. "Actually, if you would, how about you follow behind me? There's something I want to talk with you about, and it would be easier to converse if we're strolling."

Nylon kept his guard up as he left the cabin. The first thing he noticed was the lack of lights in the surroundings, as well as the eerie quietness that pervaded the area.

"What's got you so lost in thought?" Warden Sith inquired casually without turning around. "Well, come on now. Since we're already out here, there's a special place I would like to show you."

Nylon kept silent. Every now and then, Warden Sith would bring up a random subject, to which Nylon would listen and nod. This continued until the two of them arrived at the entrance to a canyon.

All smiles, Warden Sith asked, "Do you know what this place is, young friend Nylon?" He pointed out beyond the rusted railings that had been barely hanging on for centuries. "This is EternalDream Canyon. Or well, that's what we call it, haha!"

Warden Sith was laughing—until he wasn't.

"Nylon, do you know why I've brought you here?" He voiced another question with his back facing Nylon.

Silence…

"It's okay, you don't need to answer…" he paused.

"…You just have to die!" he finished, instantly unsheathing his sword and twisting around to slice off Nylon's head.

SHING!

Nylon's |Infernal Sword| Martial Spirit sparked against Warden Sith's blade. He allowed the Warden's blade to slide against his own, and in an impossibly fast moment, his |Infernal Sword| cut through the air. The flaming sword gunned straight for Sith's neck.

"!!!"

Alarm flashed across Sith's face. However, it was too late for regret.

*Drip…*

Blood seeped into the canyon's sedimentary flooring. Looking at Nylon's right cheek, one could see a light cut.

Then there was Warden Sith…

"Gurgle…!!" He was choking on his own blood, holding both hands over his throat in a useless attempt to stop the blood from pouring out. His eyes emulated his helplessness—and his fear.

His final thoughts, an echo throughout eternity, were, 'Demon…'

THUD!

Warden Sith, an expert in the 4th Plane, Adamance, met his end to an 18-year-old slave. A young man who, not even a month ago, was cultivationless and helpless in the face of the strong.

It was fair to say that Warden Sith's final moments were filled with disbelief and unwillingness…

With a deathly chilliness to his piercing gaze, Nylon walked up to the beheaded human corpse. As if it were routine, he snatched up the Warden's sword as well as his Spatial Ring.

[Polished Silver Sword] – [X4]

The sword was of a pretty high quality, but it was nothing worth writing home about.

The Spatial Ring, however…

[2 x 2 Cubic Meter Spatial Ring] – [X3]

From what Nylon understood, if he were to multiply the Spatial Ring, none of the contents of the Rings could be multiplied again. This was hardly a downside, though, and didn't stop him from multiplying the Sword and the Ring.

DING! DING!

Four fine swords and three small rings dropped to the ground in front of Nylon. He stored the swords, then inspected the contents of the rings. Inside each one, there was a bunch of useless junk, a number of unknown paper currency, as well as…

"…Spirit Stones…"

They weren't of the Genuine-quality, but there were a few dozen Lowest-grade Spirit Stones. Moreover, there were two glowing blue stones of a larger size—these ones being of the Low-grade.

100 Lowest-grade Spirit Stones were equal to 1 Low-grade Spirit Stone. 100 Low-grade Spirit Stones were equal to 1 Mid-grade Spirit Stone, so on and so forth.

Nylon pocketed the Spirit Stones and miscellaneous items of the first Spatial Ring before doing the same for the other two Spatial Rings. His total gains wound up being over a hundred Lowest-grade Spirit Stones, 6 Low-grade Spirit Stones, and the Spatial Rings themselves, which were worth several Low-grade stones each.

A profit indeed!

If every Cultivator had this much wealth on them, then Nylon might just quit being a slave sooner than expected.

He could technically escape anytime he wanted with his current strength, but the Spirit Stones found in the Mines could all be multiplied and thus pocketed, so leaving was an internal struggle of his.

"Altogether, I have 726 Lowest-grade Spirit Stones, 7 Lowest-grade of Genuine Quality, 31 Low-grade, and 2 of Low-grade Genuine Quality."

The value of the 2 Low-grade Genuine Quality Spirit Stones was more than double that of every other one of Nylon's Spirit Stones combined. He was actually extremely fortunate to have found a Low-grade Spirit Stone of Genuine Quality while mining deep in the Mines. He was even more lucky to see a 'X3' above the stone, meaning he was able to pocket two of them.

The Wardens glowed for days after he handed in the remaining Low-grade Spirit Stone. It more than made up for any losses incurred over the past couple of months for this Mining Division.

After calculating his wealth, Nylon decided to settle down in the Canyon and cultivate. But before that, he had to kick Warden Sith and his bloody head over the cliffside. Rocks were smashed as the two parts of Sith tumbled into the dark abyss below.

Nylon only briefly looked over the edge to confirm that Sith's corpse wouldn't be discovered anytime soon. He then summoned his |Infernal Sword| Martial Spirit and evaporated the blood splattered around. After which, he finally got into a lotus position.

His cultivation started with him being surrounded by Spirit Stones of varying Grades and Qualities.
