Chapter 1 - Prologue: A Call of Fate!

Kacha!

At this moment a beaten and bruised young man covered in blood could be seen kneeling on the ground... Surrounding him were a group of large men completely armed with rifles and submachine guns which were all pointed at the injured young man.

Staring at the armed men surrounding him, the young man couldn't help but give a forced smile as he thought: "I knew there was something fishy about this job."

The leader of the armed men then approached the injured young man with a sneer and said: "Well now Mr. Hunter... this could have been avoided if you had just agreed to our kind demands... sadly though you were too ignorant to see what's good for you."

The injured hunter then replied: "Tch!... Kind Demands you say?... You wanted to plant a micro-bomb in my body and make me kill people who were enemies of your organization!... I'm just a guy who hunts wild animals to make a quick buck, I don't kill people! You bastards should've gone looking for a mercenary or an assassin, not a nobody hunter like me!"

This wounded young man could be considered someone who had lived a fairly painful life... he had lost his parents while he was in his early teens due to severe illnesses and was taken in by his distant relatives who had made him work to the bone near the point of collapsing.

Eventually he had had enough and left his distant relatives intending to make a living for himself.... after many failures and disappointments he soon realized that it turns out, he had a talent for hunting.... taking up the job of a hired hunter and hunting many dangerous and rare beasts at the risk of his own safety, the young man finally began rebuilding a life for himself.

During these times of hardships the only things that kept a smile on the young man's face, were certain stories, novels, comics, games and animated shows that he would watch during his rare free times... Most of which were stories written by a novelist with the pen name of Tang Jia San Shao.

Sadly... after years working as a hired hunter, the young man's talent for hunting had begun to attract the attention of some troublesome and dangerous people... Not long after, misfortune once again reared it's ugly head for this young man.

Several underground organizations began approaching him and blackmailing him to work for them... his hunting assignments also became less and less due to pressure from these organizations... eventually after more than half a year of enduring their actions, one of these organizations couldn't wait any longer and decided to take action on him... simply put they've resulted to using violence.

The young man tried his best to fight back however the entire area was planted with traps and designed to make sure the young man could not escape which resulted in the current scene which was happening now.

"Now now... no need to get testy. The offer still stands... So long as you accept, we may still be able to discuss some conditions." Said the leader of the armed men with eager eyes as he stared at the young man.

By this point the young man couldn't help but bite his lower lip as he thought: "Is this really it for me?... Was struggling through all those hard times really for nothing?... Maybe... Maybe I should just end myself now and be done with all of it!"

Suddenly at that moment....

whoosh!....

Everything around the young man seemed to have stopped and all of the world's colors seemed to have vanished... it was as if time itself had ceased!

"What just happened?!" Muttered the injured young man as his eyes grew wide at the scene.

clak..clak..clak..clak..

It was here that the young man began hearing loud but gentle footsteps coming from behind him.

Once he turned around, the young man couldn't help but be shocked by the sight in front of him... It was an extremely beautiful woman with long pink hair and bright shining eyes walking towards him... however what truly shocked him was the fact that there were what looked to be glowing, floating golden runes of light orbiting around this woman... what's more with each step she took, the young man felt as if the entire area around him would briefly shudder as if small earthquakes would occur with each of this woman's steps.

By this point the young man simply didn't move... not because he couldn't, but because he had a hunch that wherever he went, this otherworldly woman would definitely appear in front of him again... and his hunches were rarely wrong.

When the otherworldly woman stopped in front of the young man she simply said: "Hello."

Hearing her speak, the young man couldn't help but once again show a forced smile as he thought: "Why the heck is this weird shit happening to me now?!"

Calming himself down, the young man raised his head towards the otherworldly woman and asked: "Uh... How can I help you Mam?"

Seeing the young man's reaction, the otherworldly woman smiled and said: "Oh my.... Well truth be told there are quite a few things you can help me with."

It was then that the otherworldly woman waved her hand, and in that instant all wounds and blood covering the young man instantly vanished as if he was never really hurt from the start.

"Uh..." By this point the young man simply became speechless as he thought: "How the.... wait is this a dream?"

"First let's change the scenery... then we talk." With a snap of her fingers, the entire area changed... gone were the frozen armed men surrounding the young man... replaced with something that looked to be a beautiful garden.

In-between the woman and the young man was a small round table with a pair of chairs respectively on both of it's sides.

Seeing everything that happened just now the young man thought: "If this isn't a dream then this woman in front of me... what is she?!"

As if responding to his thoughts the otherworldly woman said: "First let me introduce myself... I am a Goddess of Fate... you may call me Mingyun."

"A.. God?" Muttered the young man as he was now in a daze.

"Take a seat young hunter.... have some tea, we have some things to discuss." Said the woman as she took a seat and conjured a pair of cups on the small round table.

After a few moments, the young man took a seat on the other chair trying his best to calm himself down... he had no idea if what was happening to him was real or not as such he didn't know what to do nor what to say.

Taking a sip of her tea, the woman then spoke: "Alright let me get straight to the point... I wish to hire you for a job."

Feng Jingsheng Narration: "This was how it all began... a hunting job offered by a Goddess of Fate... or perhaps it would be more appropriate to refer to it as a call of fate... a life filled with unexpected events and opportunities began from this simple meeting."
