There are several forms of love, and one of them is the kind that blossoms at first sight—especially when one is still pure and unaware of worldly affairs.
That's exactly what happened to Wang Ling when he was struggling with the confusion of what it meant to have a mate, hearing the term for the first time as part of a clan ritual.
Stronger wolves had many cubs from many women, scattering their seed far and wide to produce high-yield, strong potential offspring.
And this became a burden for Wang Ling. He had just completed his training and, for the first time, demonstrated his potential to the clan head.
From then on, everyone began talking about how he would need to mate with several women—confusing him even more.
He was told that his potential would be wasted if he committed to a single partner.
That he must father children with many women to pass on his strength. But that was too much for someone who had disciplined himself entirely in training and becoming stronger. So, he isolated himself.
He might never have come out of that place—but from the hidden forest cottage where he stayed, he always saw a woman struggling with her training. She was maybe twenty years older than him—who knew her actual age?—but he started to see her regularly.
There are moments in life when your emotions are unstable and you crave peace… yet life throws a ripple across your heart, enough to make it tremble. That's exactly what happened. Slowly, without even noticing, he began to fall for that woman.
It started with him giving her small tips, short techniques—then watching how attentively she listened, giving only a nod, then practicing them all day.
He, being a genius, could pull off those stunts easily. But due to wolf pride, he assumed she would frown and ignore his suggestions like others did.
But she was different…
She took notes of what he said. Slowly, over the years, as he helped her train, she grew stronger—though still as cold as ever.
Her strength increased. And with it, his love for her soared.
After he crossed the age of eighteen, he was instantly bombarded by commitments. Several of his elders and teachers suggested suitable consorts, concubines—pressuring him with ritual expectations. He ignored them all, even rejecting the clan's foundational ritual, when he declared:
"Even if you all insist, I will choose Velmira Starlight as my first mate."
That was the moment the elders made the official announcement and sent a proposal to Velmira. And that was also when she cut off all ties with him. All those years of hard work—he thought they would bear fruit one day—but it all turned to nothing.
He thought that being strong and kind would be enough to impress her.
But unknowingly, he had planted a seed in her heart… one that bloomed into inferiority. A denial that broke him when she said:
"You deserve someone better… I am weak."
Something shattered inside him—in his heart… and in his body.
He had already prepared to marry her and take other concubines only afterward, to produce many children and secure his place in the battle for clan leadership. That was the plan. But the woman he truly loved rejected him.
To get her, he had to return to the path he'd once rejected—seeking the favor of the elders once more.
Now, he has five mates. Married them.
But none are pregnant.
Not because of them.
The issue was—he couldn't get hard.
Yeah. He realized it the day she broke his heart—that was the day he lost confidence in his manhood.
Even though, on the surface, he appeared perfect… inside, something precious had been lost. And only that woman could return it.
He knew no medicine would work—he had tried many.
Only her touch could fix it.
And now, as he sprinted through the Forest of Gade, he once again felt that sensation. The pull in his heart—the bond he used to feel whenever she was near. But now, it felt like she was slipping further from him.
Even after achieving everything, she felt more distant than ever. He had lost her… from his destiny.
He used to believe she was written into his fate. Even when it took effort, he believed it. But now—it felt hollow.
"ROOOOOAAARRRRR!"
A thunderous roar erupted from the wolf—echoing for miles, shaking every creature within ten miles.
This was the rage of a wolf that had just felt its connection severed. Instantly, it leapt into the forest.
BOOM!
It landed with a quake—its massive body, dark grey fur, and dangerous aura pulsing with fury. It sniffed the scent of Velmira.
Then, without pause, it dashed in that direction—its mind echoing a singular, violent thought:
'I WILL KILL ANYONE WHO DARES TO TAKE YOU AWAY FROM ME!!'

Morning finally came with the sun rays scattering over the Havrian city, existing in the human zone, with the scattering light revealing skyscrapers and modern buildings.
Unlike the last night view within the forest, it was much more normal and something nostalgic.
Far away within the depth of the city, at the edge where moderate levels of apartments and buildings existed inside Sector 18, was an apartment.
Within the apartment's bed lay a woman, wearing just a shirt. Her chest was breathing but too tight for the shirt, which belonged to a man with a broad shoulder. The stretch of her breasts appeared to be compressed, with the buttons threatening to tear away at any moment.
Soon enough, the woman's eyes fluttered open. It was dizzying, yet as she did, she found herself staring at the ceiling.
"Hm?" Velmira blinked, realizing she was in a strange place. She rubbed her temple, feeling a mild headache that reminded her of what happened last night.
There were hazy memories scattered in her mind, where the only thing she initially recalled was being called out by some man for her help. She blinked again before looking around, finding this room filled with books, some comics, and a table—nothing much, just something that belonged to a typical human teenager.
Krieeek
Finally, the door of the room slowly opened. Her eyes calmed as she reflected on a young man nudging his shoulder to open the door, wearing a cartoonish apron and holding a tray in his hand with porridge. With bread in his mouth, he slowly approached her.
"Y-you—!" She instantly felt flashes of memory pass through her mind as she saw those crimson eyes and that black hair.
