Kael instinctively turned back at that very moment, and immediately saw the beast sniffing close to him when the shivering guy crashed out and drew the beast's attention away from him.
Immediately, Kael pulled back away from the beast without another thought, watching as it crawled its way toward the boy with its jaws spread wide open for a big bite.
'Shit… he might not make it out alive!'
In a swift reaction, Dren activated his affinity. He raised two fingers, aiming at the beast as it charged toward the boy.
Then, with a sudden stomp, he slammed his leg into the ground. The earth surged upward in a rapid, jagged sequence, each spike striking the creature and forcing it off course as they slammed into its hide.
Lira followed up instantly. Activating her lightning affinity, she burst forward in a streak of lightning energy, her reflexes razor-sharp as she caught up to the boy within seconds.
"Fall back!" Dren shouted out.
