I couldn't sleep. Something about that Tokyo invitation was eating at me, so while Isabella slept curled against my side, I stayed up digging into Tanaka Industries' background. What I found at 3 AM made my stomach drop.
Hidden deep in their corporate structure was a name I'd hoped never to see again: Blackwood International Holdings. They owned 23% of Tanaka's parent company.
Marcus Blackwood. The bastard who'd tried to destroy us before.
"Can't sleep?" Isabella's sleepy voice made me look down at her beautiful face, hair messed from sleep, looking so peaceful I hated to ruin it with bad news.
"Found something you need to see," I said gently, turning my laptop so she could read what I'd discovered.
She sat up immediately, all traces of sleep gone as she processed what this meant. "Oh my God. Damien, this whole Tokyo thing is a setup."
