Chapter 39 - The Preacher shall Preach (I)

In the space between floors on the fifth citadel, the Lukas clones who were named the higher priests were sitting around a donut shaped table with a Captain Teddy hologram in the middle. The 12 higher priests were having an important meeting.

One of them hit the table with his fist. "How dare they?"

"Relax, White One. Prophet would not have gotten captured, if not for a bigger reason." Another one said.

A third one stood up. "Light is right. Why would Prophet do that? Yes, he did bring us closer to the great goddess Captain Teddy, but he still could have escaped. There must be a deeper reason for his capture."

White One sat down and Light nodded satisfied. "We need to figure it out. What is his message for us?"

"I don't think he plans for us to do anything." Light said, "He would not want us to reveal ourselves yet, not until we are within moments of meeting with Captain Teddy."

The entirety of the higher priests nodded in agreement.

"We have a little over 16 hours until we arrive. If Prophet has not worked out his plan until there is less than 1 hour left, we will reveal ourselves and take over." White One said.

Prophet was resting in an improvised cell, as their citadels had never bothered with creating a police force. They had simply cleared out a small closet and replaced the door with a bulletproof window.

"So, dirtbag, where are we going?" A Max clone asked, resting behind the window and looking at him. He was resting his hands on top of one of his knees, while his other leg lay flat on the ground.

"To visit the one whose sacrifice saved our lives." Prophet answered with a weird, almost brainwashed-like, expression on his face. "She has returned and wishes us to come back to her. And now, we are on our way."

The Max clone had a puzzled expression. "She? Sacrifice? Do you mean that Teddy? What was—" He jumped backwards in shock.

Prophet had tried to attack him, hammering against the window. His expression was filled with fury. "She sacrificed herself, thinking she would die, just so you could survive, yet you do not bother remembering her name?"

The Max clone smirked, "You think I would bother remembering someone I do not care about?" He said to provoke Prophet. The Max clone glanced at Prophet's forehead, noticing that he has makeup wiped all over some kind of tattoo. "What is that?" He gestured at Prophet's forehead.

"How could you not recognize her?" He was genuinely perplexed. "It is the face of the true saviour and goddess of all the light in this universe. It is the face of Captain Teddy." Wiping the sweat and makeup on his forehead away, to reveal the entire tattoo, he pressed it against the window to make it easier to see.

The Max clone came closer to examine the tattoo.

"Pray!" He commanded and his tattoo started to shine.

The Max clone's pupils vanished and his iris turned white. He stood up with robot-like movements and unlocked the door, letting Prophet out of his cell. "The goddess' preacher shall be freed and continue preaching." He muttered under his breath.

Prophet stood up, proudly. "Yes, my child. I shall preach to this entire citadel! Make them believe in her, in our lord!" He laughed maniacly with his arms above his head. "Let us convert these fools, who do not pray, until they are ready and happy to offer their lives for her."
