Days passed and Jennifer successfully completed a whole week at her office. Though working with Tan was a little difficult, she still managed and followed his orders, trying her best to make fewer mistakes.
Emma, on the other hand, tried to find ways to be close to Tan. The incident a week before was still roaming in her head. She was finding ways to make Jennifer look bad in front of everyone, like.....
Flashback :-
"Miss Emma, tell me my today's schedule." Tan said, entering his cabin, followed by Emma and Jennifer.
"Today at 10:00 a.m. you have a meeting with Ms. Daphné, the well-known fashion model regarding her new winter collection, said she'd be there till 9:45 a.m. At 3:00 p.m.-"
"Wait, you said she'd be here till 9:45 and its 9:25 right now." Tan said, checking his wristwatch.
"Right sir."
"Then, why didn't you inform me before?" Tan said, trying to burst out in anger.
"Sir, you told me that the morning schedule is under Ms. Jennifer, I wanted to tell you, but I thought you'd get angry at me for helping her." Emma said, giving a little smirk which went unnoticed by Tan.
Hearing this, Jennifer's eyes went wide in shock, making her speak out her thoughts on the current situation, "But, Ms. Emma, you never told me that the morning schedule was for me."
Tan looked at Jennifer and said, "So, you are saying, you never knew what your work is."
Jennifer opened her mouth to say something but got interrupted by Emma, "Ms. Jennifer, I clearly mentioned the first day that the morning schedule would be on you. Why are you lying? That I never told you, are you trying to make me look bad here? Just check your iPad, you surely have all the morning schedule of this month on it." Emma? Bringing fake tears in her eyes. Jennifer looked at her, squinting her eyes and thought, "Why is she even doing this? I never had a beef with her. Why is she framing me?"
"What are you thinking, Ms. Jennifer? Check your iPad." Tan said in an ordering tone.
Jennifer checked and there was a morning schedule for the whole month that was sent at 8 o'clock in the morning.
"So, Ms. Emma, you are saying that you gave me the morning schedule of this month on the first day of my work." Jennifer asked with a smile.
"Ms. Jennifer, you are being questioned here, and you are questioning Ms. Emma, just answer my question, do you have that schedule on your iPad or not?" Tan asked.
"Yes sir, I do, but-" "No buts, Ms. Jennifer, that's so irresponsible of you." Tan shouted, making both Emma and Jennifer flinch.
"But-" "No buts, now as a punishment you'll have to complete all the 10 files I gave you yesterday to complete within a week. Now you'll complete those today itself. I don't care if you will have to work overtime. Ms. Emma, follow me." Tan ordered and left his cabin, followed by Emma, who, when faced Jennifer, smirked at her. This made Jennifer know that all of this was on purpose.

Jennifer was still learning to prepare his black coffee, which was bitter just like him. That's what she thought. Sometimes she would mess up with the papers and end up working overtime as a punishment from him.
Besides all this, she was learning and she was glad that she was doing things on her own. Also, she made many friends in the office, so chit-chats and gossip at break time was somewhat relieving for her. Currently, she was in the file room, standing up on a stool to get to a file which was kept on the highest shelf.
"Why would Sir want this file now?" Jennifer flared her nose as her short height didn't allow her to reach the file, and it was highly irritating for her.
"Miss Jennifer?" A deep voice rang inside the room, and she turned around to look at her boss but lost her balance and instantly fell down on her butt. Tqn widened his eyes, seeing her fall down, and walked towards her with a quick step.
She was about to look up at him while groaning in pain, but the file which she was trying to get from so long, fell down on her head, hitting her forehead. "Ouuhhh!" She groaned with her eyes shut tight, rubbing her forehead where the file hit her. Tan stood there blinking his eyes, looking down at her.
"What are you looking at? Help me." He held Jennifer's arm and pulled her up, making her stand properly.
"How can you be so clumsy?" He scoffed while she was still rubbing her head.
"It's all your fault. If you hadn't called me, I wouldn't have looked back." She glared at him.
"You were taking a lot of time to come. That's why I came to check. It's not my fault if you can't handle yourself." He glared back at her.
"The file was kept on the top shelf. I wasn't able to reach there." Jennifer folded her arms, frowning at the male standing in front of her.
He looked at her from head to toe for a brief moment. "It's again not my fault if you are short."
He walked past her and picked up the required file and left the room, unknowingly smiling a little, which went unnoticed by her.
Jennifer just stood there with her mouth open.
"Did he just insult me?" She glared at his retreating back but sighed later. She can't really do anything if he insults her. He is your boss after all, not the other way around!
She followed him out with slow steps, promising herself for the upteempth time to never embarrass herself in front of him again.
