Chapter 14 - 13. Coffee

He was talking about business to some men, but still his eyes were fixed on her. A few minutes later, he saw a man approach her, starting a conversation, making him feel a bit of something in his heart which he didn't like, so, he loosened his tie a bit, cleared his throat, excused himself and went towards the talking duo.

He reached Jennifer and said, "Umm....

Excuse me!" He said, interrupting the conversation Jennifer was having with that unknown guy.

"Oh! Hello, are you with her?" The guy asked, shifting in his place uncomfortably. Tan just stood beside her and nodded his head.

"Oh! Good, I was just about to-"

"You should." Tan said, interrupting the guy. He just scratched his neck a little and vanished.

"Strange." Jennifer muttered.

"Aren't you getting bored here? Wanna dance?" Tan asked forwarding his hand.

"I-" Before Jennifer could react or say something, she was already on the dance floor.

"Woah! What was that?" Jennifer said, stumbling on her heels a little, she caught Tan's shoulder, balancing herself. His one hand held Jennifer's and the other slid down around her waist, leaving a little gap between them both.

"He is a big flirt," he said, looking above her shoulder.

"Oh! You know him already." He nodded.

"It's a relief that you came. I was feeling uncomfortable with him anyway." She giggled a little, he pulled her a little closer and said, "Don't you feel uncomfortable now?" Her breath hitched at the closeness, but she said, collecting herself, "You're no doubt a little bit rude and Ill-tempered, but I feel safe with you."

"Oh! So, I am rude and ill-tempered." He said, glaring at her. She widened her eyes, realizing how frank she had become, that she said everything that went inside her head, while on the other hand, Tan was trying hard to control his smile.

....

It has been a few days since the duo have now returned to Paris. Jennifer was very happy today because it was finally the weekend after 5 tiring work days. Right now, the Wilson family is sitting in their guest room, watching movies.

"Honey, can you please tell Minie to make a coffee for me?" Robert asked his wife Hailey. "Wait. I will bring coffee for you." Jennifer jumped from the couch on which she sat with her dad. "I'll tell Minie, you just sit here Jenn." Hailey said, patting Jennifer's head.

"Yeah, it's better, if you just sit here, we don't want a firefighting team here." Denny said and laughed, chewing bubblegum. Jennifer flicked his forehead and he glared at her.

"OK, so I'll go." As soon as Jennifer said so, Minie, the new maid resisted, "I am bringing it Jenny" but Jennifer showed her palm.

"No Minie! I learned to make it recently, so I want dad to taste my hand-made coffee," Jennifer said, pouting, and her dad widened his eyes in surprise. "Is it? Oh my god Jenn. That's a pleasant surprise." Her dad chortled, and she walked inside the kitchen to make him a cup of coffee.

"It's perfect, baby." He complimented instantly after taking a sip, and she clapped her hands in excitement.

"Really, then I want one too." Hailey said happily.

"One for me too." Denny said, but Jennifer shook her head and said, "No, not for you."

"Please!" Denny pleaded, Jennifer kept her index finger on her chin, thinking, then replied, "OK then."

"Umm...well Jenn.... I have something important to tell you." Her dad cleared his throat, and she could see his smile drop as he formed a serious expression.

"Well, you remember, I went somewhere in the afternoon." She nodded her head, tucking a strand of hair behind her left ear. "Actually I went to meet Mr. Williams." He let out a breath and she crooked her brows. "Your boss's father." Her face scrunched with more perplexity, wondering how her dad knew Tan's dad.

....

"Yes dad. You called for me?" Tan spoke standing at the doorstep of his dad's room only to find his dad and mom both sitting there with smiling faces. "Yes. Come here." He patted the place beside him on his bed and Tan walked up to them, sitting on the bed.

"Umm.." his dad looked at his mom before looking back at Tan. "You know Tan that your brother is soon going to get married." Tan nodded his head, asking for him to continue. "And after him, it's only you who is left." Taehyung frowned, understanding where his dad was leading this conversation to.

"Look before getting angry, listen to me. I know you are not interested in marriages and you want to focus on your work and all but son, you are already doing good and you are my young, handsome boy." he patted his arm with a wide smile but dropped it as Tan's face was blank.

"Ahh...! Stop scaring me with those looks." his dad scoffed and hence his mother took the lead and walked up to his son. "Baby, we all need someone in our life,we can't always stay alone." she caressed his cheek.

"But mom I am seriously not interested in getting married." he sighed.

"But we want to see you happily settled with a nice girl." She cupped his cheeks this time, making him look up to her. "Mom I am already happy in my life with you, dad and Aiden. I don't need anyone else." He said firmly.

"We are there and we will always be. But a special one is a special one. You don't open up to anyone. You are always so quiet and calm. You need someone to open your heart to. Everyone needs someone as their soulmate." His mother smiled, caressing his hairs this time and he left a long sigh.

"We want you to get married with someone, to whome you can open your heart and share your feelings with her. I already have a girl decided for you, I'll set you both up, only if you agree."

Tan left a long sigh and asked, "Who? Who is she?"

"Well, you know her pretty well." His dad said, making Tan squint his eyes.

His mom spoke up, "it's...
