"Dad," Kaelen greeted, immediately sensing the gravity of his father's expression. "What have you found?"
I shifted uncomfortably on the couch, one hand protectively covering my rounded belly. Though Rhys wasn't due for weeks yet, I felt perpetually on edge, as if Malakor might appear from the shadows at any moment to snatch him away.
Harrison placed the folder on the coffee table between us. "The connection we suspected has been confirmed. The fertility doctor you initially visited, Seraphina—before you went to Lyra's clinic—was the daughter of Malakor's personal physician."
