I closed the door softly behind us, leaving Lyra and Ronan to their emotional reunion. The hallway felt strangely quiet after the intensity of emotions we'd just witnessed.
"They need time," Kaelen murmured, his arm sliding around my waist as he guided me away from the medical room. "This changes everything for them."
"I'm so happy for them," I said, leaning into his warmth. "After everything they've been through, they deserve this miracle."
We walked in comfortable silence to a small sitting area at the end of the hallway. Kaelen sank into one of the plush chairs, pulling me onto his lap without hesitation. I settled against his chest, drawing comfort from his steady heartbeat beneath my ear.
"A hybrid child," he mused, his fingers absently stroking through my hair. "Another first."
I smiled against his chest. "Our family seems to specialize in breaking all the rules."
