Title: Lydia's Problem
Before Alpha Kane could beat me to death, Elder Thorne's crystal started glowing.
"What's that?" Kane asked.
"Emergency communication," Elder Thorne said, pulling out the crystal.
"From who?"
"I don't know."
The crystal showed a face I recognized. Lydia. Alexander's new girlfriend who'd taken my place as fake Luna.
She looked terrified.
"Elder Thorne?" her voice came through all staticky. "Are you there?"
"I'm here child. What's wrong?"
"I need help. Something's wrong with my baby."
"What baby?" I asked.
Lydia's eyes widened when she saw me. "Vanessa? You're alive?"
"Yeah, surprise. What's this about a baby?"
"I'm pregnant. With Alexander's child. But the baby... it's not normal."
Kane leaned in to look at the crystal. "What do you mean not normal?"
"It moves wrong. And sometimes things happen around me. Bad things."
"What kind of bad things?" Elder Thorne asked.
