# Chapter 34- Vanessa's POV
Before we left I had to check on something.
Elder Thorne had this weird crystal thing that let him spy on other packs. Like supernatural surveillance or whatever.
"Can you show me the Blackmoon pack?" I asked him.
"Why?"
"I need to see what Alexander's doing. If my parents were right about his father being Shadow Council, maybe Alexander's getting new orders."
Elder Thorne didn't look happy about it but he activated the crystal.
The surface went all misty then cleared up to show the Blackmoon territory.
And holy shit, things had gotten bad.
The pack village looked like a prison camp. Guards everywhere. People walking around looking scared as fuck. And there was this big black tower in the center that definitely wasn't there before.
"When did they build that?" I asked.
"Build what?"
"The tower. That wasn't there when I lived there."
"That's not built," Elder Thorne said quietly. "That's grown."
"What do you mean grown?"
