Chapter 3 - Meadow of Dreams

Dravik arrived on Earth before Cairo and was amazed by the beauty of the scene he saw. It was a vast vegetation filled with light blue luminous plants that blended into the blackness of the abyss, creating a beautiful scene in the place. The large trees and rivers were breathtaking.

Dravk, in amazement: Oh my God, I've never seen anything so amazing in my life.

Cairo: What are you saying? - Surprise. Wow, how could a place like this be in the abyss?

They both continued exploring the place, which showed no signs of danger.

Dravk: Look, there's fruit on the tree. Dravik jumped up, plucked two, and gave one to Cairo.

Cairo: I don't think that's a good idea. The fruit might be poisonous. - A biting sound interrupted him.

Dravk: Cairo, it's sweet and delicious. You should try it.

Cairo, angrily: Are you crazy? It might be poisonous.

Dravk began patting Cairo's shoulder, smiling. Dravik: Don't worry, even if it is poisonous, I'll burn it. Using my blood, I'm sure you're hungry from the last fight. You have to eat to build up your energy.

Cairo: You're right. We need to recover our energy.

Dravik: Cairo, prepare the camp. I'll go get water.

Cairo: Okay, be careful.

Dravik went to the river to get water. Thirst had killed them both due to the intense heat in the Satelek. Cairo set up a small camp to rest after a fierce fight with the guard.

Cairo: Okay, everything's ready... Oh, I've prepared. Did you bring the water?

Dravik: Yes, take it.

Cairo: Did you check if it's poisonous or not?

Dravik: It's safe, a hundred times safer.

Cairo began drinking until he was satisfied. Cairo: Since you're here, I'll build a barrier. Cairo created a shadow barrier to prevent anyone from approaching.

Dravik: So who will stay to guard?

Cairo: No one forgot. The more floors we descended, the stronger we became. The barrier now prevents any creature from passing.

Dravik happily: This is the first time I won't be the guard.

They both lay down and went to sleep. Hours later, Cairo heard someone calling him.

???: Hey, hey, wake up. Sleeping here isn't safe. Wake up!!

Cairo opened his eyes and found plants wrapped around his body, as if they were trying to devour him. He panicked and tried to move, but he was unable to do so because of the plants. Then, a stranger who looked to be in his fifties approached and cut off the plants wrapped around Cairo's body.

Cairo, relieved: Thank you, sir. What about Dravik?

???: He cut the plants that were wrapped around his body, but he's still asleep.

Cairo: Dravik, wake up.

Dravk: Just two minutes.

Cairo, screaming: Wake up, you idiot.

Dravk: What do you want? Why are you waking me up now?

Cairo: Those plants were going to kill us.

After Dravik regained consciousness, they both met up with that person.

Cairo: Sir, what are you doing in the Abyss alone? You look too old to explore the Abyss.

Andre: You can call me Andre. I've been locked in Mogon (Mogon is the name of the second floor) for over 25 years after I killed my group in a fight with the Hell Guardian. I escaped and found myself in this place. At first, I thought I was safe, but I discovered I was in a hell worse than Stelek, what I call the Meadow of Death.

Those words instilled fear in them. Cairo, nervously: Why did you call it the Meadow of Death?

Andrei, with a look of despair: Because this entire place is trying to kill you.

They both looked into Andrei's serious eyes, which worried them.

Dravik: And why did those plants surround us?

Andrei: She was preparing you to be her feast.

Dravik: For her?

Andrei: I mean the floor guardian, the Mirage Queen, a huge blue insect with butterfly wings that devours everyone who comes to her floor.

Kairo, suspiciously: If she's going to devour everyone who comes to her floor, then how did she survive for 25 years?

Andre: Don't get me wrong, young man. I didn't say she was strong. Compared to a Hell Guardian, she's weak. What makes her difficult to kill is her fighting style. Every time I get close to killing her, she runs away or turns into a mirage. Her ability to hide makes her so invisible that even if you try to search for her, you can't find her.

Dravik: That's a vile fighting style.

Cairo: When was the last time you faced her?

Andre: The last time was 5 years ago, and because of her, I lost my leg.

Dravik: Uncle Andre, help us kill that guard.

Andre: How could you ask for help from an old man with no legs? You're both weak.

Dravik: Uncle, aren't you tired of staying in this place for over 20 years? Don't you want to get out of here and see the outside world again? We'll purge this abyss no matter what and save our world. I promise you, I'll get out of this hell.

Dravik's words and will ignite a flame of hope for Andre... Andre: Okay, I'll help you, but I can't fight without a leg.

Cairo: I can make you a shadow leg. Show me.

Andre offered his leg to Cairo. Cairo absorbed a shadow sprouting from nearby plants, turning it into a foot, and then tied it up.

Cairo: It won't be like your real leg, but it'll do the trick. If exposed to strong light, it'll disappear.

Andre was amazed at what Cairo had done. Andre: What an amazing technique. Is it internal or external?

(Tactic users are divided into two types: internal, which controls a part of their body, like skin or blood, and external, which controls external things, like water or air.)

Cairo: I don't know because my technique isn't clear whether it's internal or external.

Andre: You have a point. Your technique isn't clear. What about the other guy?

Dravik: My technique is internal. I control blood.

Andre: Did you wake him up?

Both Cairo and Dravik were surprised by what he said. Look... Cairo and Dravik: Awakening??

Andrei laughed at their surprise. Andrei: It seems that children these days don't know the word Awakening. I'll give you a simple explanation. The children of the Abyss use Miasma to control the inside (like blood) or the outside (like air). Awakening is used on internal users. It involves combining your technique with Miasma to create a stronger technique.

Cairo was surprised and placed his hand on his chin. Cairo: I heard about this information in a book. It was called Total Evolution.

Dravik excitedly: "Uncle, how can I use Awakening?"

Andrei laughed. "It comes completely randomly." Dravik looked at him with disappointment.

Cairo: "Now we have to devise a plan to kill the Mirage Queen. How can we fight her?"

Andrei: "She only comes out of hiding once, and that is when her plants prepare food for her."

Dravik: How can we find food for her? Andre: They only eat humans. Plants sense the blood and skeleton of a body to confirm it's a human.

Cairo: In that case, I'll create a human body, and Dravik will fill it with blood.

Andre: When you approach the corpses to try to eat them, you'll discover they're a trap and try to escape. When you try to escape, I'll drop them to the ground, and you two will continue the work.

Dravk excitedly: Okay, let's start the Mirage Queen.

After they placed the corpse, each of them held their position, hiding in one of the bushes, fearing their plan would fail. After some time, the plants began to wrap themselves around the body. They remained wrapped around it for about an hour and a half, until a terrifying miasma appeared, increasing the team's fear and confusion. It quickly headed toward the corpse.

Cairo and Dravik looked up to find the Mirage Queen: a huge insect with butterfly wings, a black heart resembling a Hell Guardian, and the body of a disgusting and terrifying insect. The queen began to slowly approach the corpse. She brought her head close to the corpse, then screamed, a loud, terrifying scream.

Dravik: It seems she knew it was a trap.

The insect flew quickly to escape the trap. Andrei made a large hammer out of stone and jumped into the sky... Andrei excitedly said: It's been a long time, insect. It's time to get my revenge!... Andrei slammed the ground so hard that the entire place shook... Andrei: Rock style... The Great Wall!

The strike created a long wall that collided with her head, knocking her off balance and causing her to fall to the ground. Dravik: Blood Style... Cutting Blades! Dravik cut off her wings and legs, leaving her unable to move. Cairo: You're finished, you insect... Shadow Style... Great Spears! Cairo created two massive spears from the shadows and slashed them down, piercing her body.

The insect's scream was a terrifying scream that shook every area until it stopped moving.

Andre came running, looking happy. Andre: Well done, finally, after 25 years, I can get out of this hell.

Andre suddenly stopped talking, which worried Dravik. Dravik: Andre, why are you so silent? Did something happen? Blood spurted from Andre's mouth, and he fell to the ground.

Dravic ran over to Andre to find something piercing his chest. He looked and saw the queen slowly revealing herself, her tongue... Filled with blood, her appearance was different. Her color was a bluish-green, her body was covered in black decorations, and she had a human face on the front of her head. She raised her leg, attacking Dravik, who was on his knees.

Cairo emerged from Dravik's shadow and carried him, then jumped, avoiding the queen's attack.

Cairo: The body we killed was just an illusion. We were the ones who fell into the trap, not her. Dravik is not the time to grieve. We need to focus. I'm sure Andre would say the same.

Dravic, sadly: He died a treacherous death. He didn't even die with honor.

Cairo: There are others who died in worse ways. Now we need to focus on killing her.

Dravic took out his sword and aimed it at her, pointing it at her with a hateful look: "You cowardly insect, you will die by my hand, Dravik Nekut."

The insect looked at them and opened its colorful, beautiful wings, creating dozens of crystals around it. She screamed and began to throw them at them, so they began to avoid the crystals.

Dravic jumped. Using the Blood Blades, he cut off her leg, but she regenerated it.

Dravik: Oh my god, I'll prepare the final blow.

Cairo smiled. "I'm counting on you, Dravik. Come here, you stupid insect."

The butterfly turned into mist, as if it hadn't existed, causing Cairo to become confused and anxious. He felt something behind him. He looked behind him and jumped. The queen was trying to pierce his chest with her tongue.

Cairo: "That won't work on me, you coward."

Cairo continued to play with the queen until Dravik was ready. Dravik: "I'm ready. Secure her."

Cairo: "Okay... Shadow Style... Shadow Chains... The queen tried to escape by transforming into a mirage... That won't work. These chains are securing your shadow. Now, Dravik!!"

Dravik raised his sword high, and blood began to swirl around his sword, changing its color to black.

Dravik took a deep breath. Dravik: "This is for Andre, Black Blood Style... The Breaker!!!"

That blow split the insect's body in half, and blood began to spurt everywhere, exploding, leaving no part of the insect.

The entire second floor began to evaporate, as if they were in a dream, until they found themselves in a dark place.

Cairo: So the meadow of death was originally part of her power?

Dravik carried Andre's body... Dravik looked sad: I'll go dig Landre's grave. Purify the Black Heart.

Cairo purified the Black Heart so that the Mirage Queen would not come back to life. As for Dravik, he dug Landre's grave.

Cairo placed his hand on Dravik's shoulder, trying to comfort him... Cairo: Are you ready?

Dravik: Cairo, death doesn't mean anything.

Cairo: The world we live in is filled with tragedy and sorrow, and death is a means of relief from this suffering. Andre is now relieved from his suffering.

Dravik stood up: We will purify the abyss and end the suffering of all humanity.

Cairo smiled: Yes.

The earth began. With the cracking and shaking... Cairo: What's happening!!

... As they tried to understand what was happening, the ground cracked and they both fell apart from each other.
