POV - Kyas
I quickly used the opportunity to hug Clara again to laugh without leaving again. "Thank you, Clara, that means so much." I said with a smile.
"I would like to clear up one minor issue, if I may, before voting." Basil said. "Part of the amazing recovery and growth we have seen in Kyas, although he has always been a good pup, has been due to his lycan keeper. In the event of release, will Kyas be able to cope without him?"
"That will not be an issue, Elder Basil." I said. "I have asked Sir to keep me. Permanently." I touched my bond and darkened its color, so it could be seen clearly.
'Mine.' Sir said.
'Yes, Sir.' I sent back.
"Well then," Basil continued. "Cameron has always been a positive force for Kyas. With his continued influence, I believe Kyas has everything he needs for success. I vote yes."
'Touching.' Sir said. 'Since Chaos and I both share your thoughts, if Chaos becomes Alpha Chaos, I become Alpha Sir? Right? Alpha Cameron? I like the sound of that.' Sir said.
'SHUT. UP!' I sent back.
"I've always had my reservations about Kyas. Sometimes his hardships made me believe that his traumas would prevent him from being an effective leader, even given his gifts. However, as Alpha stated a long time ago, Kyas is an optimist. He sees the bright side of… well.. Everything. That attitude has helped him, and others weather many storms over the years, and it's essential to being a good leader." Atticus said. "I vote yes."
"I have never been more proud. Kyas started from nothing, and still had the will and drive to keep going, when some of the things he went through would have killed stronger men. Kyas has been selfless in so many ways, sometimes to a fault. The most remarkable thing is that he let me in. Often, when a lycan takes a person, there's no way out. For ten years, I believed I held Kyas under that rule. Then I found out that Kyas had been able to remove my bond at any time, and he chose not to. Kyas chose to let me help him, for the good of his pack, before himself. It has been a gift." Sir said. "I vote yes."
I was touched. I don't regret a single minute.
'You owe me for that speech. I'm coming for your feet.' Sir said.
'Ok, maybe THAT minute.' I sent back.
'Then I get your shirt too.' He sent.
'It STILL doesn't fit you!' I sent back.
'It still looks better on me than you. Maybe I should just write SIR'S SHIRT on all your shirts. Then, they all get to be mine too.' Sir said.
I raise my hand. The council looks. "One moment."
Again I ran to the end of the hall and let loose.
'Why do you keep leaving?' Chaos sent. 'It's rude.'
'I agree, there are a lot of very important people in there. Show some respect.' Sir said.
I laughed harder.
'I swear, by everything the Goddess loves, if you make me laugh when Alpha Dalton speaks, I'll disown you both.' I said.
I returned to the room. "Thank you for your patience, Council, a short interruption."
I stood again at the wall.
"I've come to know Kyas through work with Carlisle. He has an inquisitive mind and loves to learn. An essential mindset for an Alpha in an ever changing world to be able to adapt. Well done, Kyas." Zeke said. "I vote yes."
"Thank you, Zeke." I told him.
'Watch it you, I'm a jealous lycan. You better not let him touch one of my shirts.' Sir said.
'Good, Goddess, please shut up!' I sent back.
"I have seen Kyas through Elias' eyes, constantly painted the villain of his story. Yet not once did I ever feel that Elias' actions were justified. Kyas, I feel for you, I saw what happened, and you've come so far. While I believe that Cameron is the best fit for you, I'm always disappointed that it wasn't me that got you. You are amazing. "Asher said. "I vote yes."
"You gave it a good shot, Asher. It almost worked. I'm glad for my Sir, but I would have also been honored with you." I said.
'You are so dead when we get out of here.' Sir said.
'Be nice, I'm already yours, I can say nice things.' I sent back.
"I'm not close with Kyas, but based off of Cameron's reports, and a few from Asher and Zeke that mention him, he appears to be a suitable candidate for Alpha." Delta Isaiah said. "I vote yes."
'He's generalizing. We had a serious conversation about the absolute mutiny of that PB&J sandwich.' Sir said.
'Oh My Goddess, you're seriously going to do it. You're going make me laugh at Alpha Dalton!' I sent back, horrified.
'Muahaha' Chaos sent again.
'Hush! I can block you, Chaos.' I threatened.
'I can unblock him, Kyas.' Sir said.
"Oh, my Goddess!" I said out loud, earning lots of curious looks. "Apologies, I need another moment."
AGAIN, they chased me out of that room!
'I'm going to beat at least one of you bloody, I can do that as long as I don't kill you.' I said.
'You have to catch me first.' Sir said.
When I collected myself, I returned. "Apologies, again Council. Sometimes they can be relentless." I said with a glare at Sir, who pointedly ignored me.
"We understand Kyas, this meeting has been a rather long one, and the pack tends to move at a fast pace," said Jasper. I nod at him.
"I'm always in favor of a Gamma becoming an Alpha, I feel their education on the pack is a great asset to the Alpha responsibilities. A true Gamma should be sight to see." Said Gamma Mac. "Of course I vote yes."
'Yeah, he IS, Gamma Mac, you should see him without a shirt.' Sir said.
'Ember likes him without a shirt.' Chaos supplied. 'Emma does too, even though she always sees me without a shirt.'
'Shut up, shut up, shut up!' I sent back, practically begging.
"I'm not sure there's much more to be said, it's a glowing review across the board. He's done well so far, I think he'll do just fine moving forward."Beta Wes said. "I vote yes."
"Well, young Kyas, everyone seems to think very highly of you. I hope that continues…" Alpha Dalton started.
'He means high and mighty.' Sir said. 'This is going to go straight to his head.'
'But I'm already in his head, there's no room.' Chaos said.
'Relax, it blows the head up, makes it bigger, you'll still fit.' Sir replied.
