While everyone was still in shock from the appearance of the Spider-Man Alliance, Gwen Stacy—this universe's Ghost-Spider—was staring at Alex Ray with a conflicted expression. She knew he possessed knowledge beyond hers, and that alone made her uneasy. She couldn't tell what his true intentions were, but she had a feeling that Alex wasn't a bad person.
Thinking this, the plaid-suited Spider-Man—Peter from another universe—stepped forward to explain the situation to the three younger teens still frozen in awe. After all, there was a high probability that both he and the other Spider-Man would end up joining the Spider-Man Base in the future.
"Guys," Gwen began, "my name is Gwen Stacy. In my universe, I was bitten by a genetically altered spider while working at Oscorp and became Spider-Woman—you can also call me Ghost-Spider.
I'm still in high school in my world, actually just graduated. I have a band. Not long ago, I accidentally traveled into another universe and joined the Spider-Man Base. That's when I began jumping through the multiverse.
The dimensional watch on my wrist proves that I've crossed parallel worlds. Technically, I should've left already. But I was brought here by someone—Alex Ray."
She glanced briefly at Alex as she introduced herself.
Then Garfield's version of Peter Parker picked up the thread. "I'm Peter Parker too," he said. "In my universe, I snuck into Oscorp and used my girlfriend Gwen's work ID."
"I mean the Gwen from my world—she also works at Oscorp," he added, stealing a glance at Ghost-Spider Gwen, worried his words might offend her.
Gwen shrugged indifferently, and Peter continued: "Anyway, I got bitten by a spider and became Spider-Man. I'm sorry your Peter Parker had to leave your universe."
The memory of his battle with the Lizard resurfaced. The idea of himself turning into a monster like that terrified him.
After the two had finished their introductions, the older Peter—Tobey's version—offered a shy smile and said, "My name is Peter Parker, too. I was bitten by a spider during a visit to a college lab."
"Then I met my master—Alex Ray."
He turned and gestured to his companion. "This is my good friend, Harry."
Harry, with a tinge of envy in his voice, said, "Why don't the spiders in our Oscorp labs bite me? When I get back to my universe, I'm heading straight to Oscorp to look for one."
"I'm Peter Parker's best friend. Do I exist in your world too?"
Harry was clearly annoyed. Both Spider-Men had gained their powers because of his company's research, yet he—chairman of Oscorp—was still just a regular guy.
Alex couldn't help but laugh at the scene.
You'd probably have to rename yourself Peter Parker to get a shot at becoming Spider-Man, he thought. You want the powers without being the protagonist?
Besides, being Spider-Man means constant loss and tragedy. Harry doesn't realize how lucky he actually is.
To Alex, becoming Spider-Man wasn't a blessing. In fact, the current Harry—unscarred, wealthy, and handsome—was truly winning at life.
Gwen continued explaining the Spider-Man Base to the trio. Garfield-Peter's eyes lit up with excitement; he seemed eager to join.
Tobey's Peter, though quiet and polite, was sharp. He wasn't particularly interested in the Spider-Man Alliance. After all, he already had Alex Ray.
He believed the power base at Hell's Kitchen—Alex's turf—was every bit as formidable as Spider-Man's central hub. Right now, his priority was earning a permanent role in Hell's Kitchen and getting strong enough to join the coming war.
Then Garfield-Peter turned to Tobey-Peter, finally asking the question that had been burning in his mind:
"Did you grow up with your parents? Is Uncle Ben still around in your universe? I mean… did he pass away in your timeline too?"
Tobey's Peter saw the sadness in the other Peter's eyes and understood instantly.
"Well… my Uncle Ben almost died in an accident," he said slowly. "But Master Alex Ray saved him."
He glanced over at Alex, full of quiet gratitude.
Garfield-Peter's expression brightened, but there was still a trace of regret. It stung knowing that in another universe, Uncle Ben had been saved—something he could never do in his own world.
But he was also genuinely thankful the tragedy hadn't repeated.
Then, unexpectedly, Garfield-Peter bowed deeply to Alex Ray.
"Thank you for saving Sheriff George," he said. "And thank you for saving Uncle Ben in that world."
Alex offered only a slight smile.
It hadn't been difficult for him.
Gwen, standing silently nearby, frowned.
She was overjoyed that Sheriff George and Uncle Ben had been spared in another universe. But she also knew from Spider-Man 2099 about the existence of the Web of Life and Destiny. Tampering with canon events could destabilize entire realities.
The Miles Morales universe was already collapsing. Villains from countless dimensions were leaking into others. Disrupting one fixed point in time could send shockwaves through the entire Spider-Verse.
Why did Alex Ray do this? Gwen wondered. Is he trying to destroy the Spider-Men across the multiverse?
If so, he would have to be someone who hated Spider-Man to the core—someone with deep knowledge of all their stories and timelines.
Should she tell Spider-Man 2099?
In truth, Gwen didn't completely trust Spider-Man 2099 either. Peter Parkers everywhere seemed to be suffering so much. Maybe they deserved better.
Alex Ray's interference… it made her admire him, but it also terrified her.
Gwen wanted to confront him right there. But looking at the hopeful faces of the two Peters beside her, she bit her tongue.
How could she say aloud that saving their loved ones could destroy their worlds?
She simply couldn't.
Then, breaking the tension, Garfield-Peter made a bold move—one that shocked both other Spider-Men and Alex Ray himself.
"Mr. Alex Ray, I have a presumptuous request," he said suddenly, his voice earnest.
Everyone turned to look at him, waiting.
"Please accept me as your apprentice, Mr. Ray!" Garfield-Peter declared, eyes resolute.
[System Notification: Garfield-Peter Parker has successfully added the host as a friend.]

Alex stared at him, stunned. What is this? Am I about to become the Spider-Master of the multiverse?
Before he could answer, a sudden fluctuation swept through the fabric of space-time.
Alex's expression changed. Without another word, he shot into the sky, leaving the villa behind to investigate the anomaly.
The others were left confused. Garfield-Peter watched him vanish into the clouds, wondering if his bold request had offended the man he now deeply admired.

Elsewhere in the multiverse—
Inside a hidden chamber in Manhattan, a middle-aged man with streaks of gray in his hair and a crimson Cloak of Levitation was completing a complex spell.
Just as he was about to finish the runes, a young man interrupted him.
"Can you… make sure MJ, Aunt May, and my friends don't forget me?" the boy asked hesitantly.
Though visibly irritated, the sorcerer still nodded.
Then something unexpected happened.
The spell collapsed. A massive surge of arcane energy erupted, lifting both the sorcerer and the boy into the air.
The man's expression darkened as he realized the danger. He quickly funneled his magic inward, trying to contain the surge and seal it off.
As the energy settled, the sorcerer shouted in frustration:
"You altered my spell six times, Peter!"
